🙌 It’s a wrap! Today we mark the end of the TCarta 2-week training in Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) and Sargassum detection for the Hydrographic Service in the Dominican Republic. 🤝 We are very happy to collaborate once again with longtime partners TCarta Marine and Esri for this opportunity to take place! Many thanks to TCarta leaders Corey Goodrich and Kyle Goodrich for their collaboration and good spirits, David Bautista, Ross Smith, and Graeme Timmeney from TCarta for their specialized and quality-focused instruction and to our very own Sheila Cáceres Ferreras and Vicki Ferrini, PhD from the Atlantic and Indian Oceans Regional Center for connecting with the Dominican Hydrographic Service and making all of this happen! 🌐 As a result of this training, the Dominican Republic will now have a national 10-meter resolution Coastal Bathymetry Dataset that will be contributed to the GEBCO - General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans grid! Additionally, the training leaves behind a group of SDB and Sargassum detection experts within their Hydrographic Service, with their learned knowledge and skills being able to grow and be passed on. 📊 #Hydrography #DominicanRepublic #TCarta #Esri #GEBCO #Hydrospatial
