One of the best pieces of advice for officials is to consciously slow down during the game. It's easy to get caught up in the fast pace, but remember, when you blow your whistle, the game has completely stopped, and all eyes are on you. There’s no need to rush. Take a moment to gather yourself, be deliberate with your actions, and make sure you're confident in your next steps. Practicing in front of a mirror or watching yourself on film can be incredibly helpful. It allows you to see how you move and make adjustments as needed. By consistently practicing and reviewing, you'll develop a calmer, more controlled presence on the court. #referee #refereetips #officiating #sportsofficials #refereetraining

Driver Trainer & Tertiary Educator | Designing Quality Courses for the Transport Industry | Passionate about Learning & Development 🚗📚 🎓
There has been a few of these this year and I think that the problem is at learner stage sure it's asked about but at what point do we, during practical lessons ask our students to get out and look - or while approaching your parked car look at its posture and check behind.. yeah, I know.. my students do but so many ™instructors™ miss doing this. If you're going to teach, then bleeding well teach the skill - actually do the job because that's a critical element in adult teaching. sure classrooms are good, very good (when done right) but the skill which may seem boring to an instructor isn't doing what they are paid to do.. many want to sit next to a student for a drive but dint teach anything except the few things they need to do for a test.. and for this reason it's why driver testing is a waste of time. A competency course blended class, computer and practical is what's needed. https://lnkd.in/g54vBxJn

Table top exercises and discussions are great, but it's time to shift our mindset to "hands on" training. Our team can help with that. Check out this article for a sobering reminder of why it's important: https://lnkd.in/gP2cgQug

I'll give a little demonstration on how to use an AED (Automatic External Difibrillator), how to recognize a victim who doesn't breathe and has no pulse, and what to do in these cases. It is very important to know the procedures and never need to use them, as you may find yourself in a situation where you need to do something but don't know what to do.

The events will be analyzed and dissected many times. Learn from it. What is the average cop trained to do? What are the expectations? Are expectations consistent with capacity? Both hands occupied, firearm holstered, exposed. Do you train eyes and muzzle? How do you cross the threshold? Multiple points of contact? Climbing? One-handed shooting? That oh s__t moment can be a valuable training tool. How well do you holster under stress? Do you train in a suit or are you wearing comfortable range gear?
