Supporting ambitious people to create rewarding careers and positive impacts on places 🥳 Professional Development Coach 🎯 Facilitator 📣 Speaker ✅ Director (GAICD) 📈 Urban Planner 🧭 Wilderness Protector 🌿 MC 🎤
Are you back at work and it's already feeling like a grind already? 😒 It's a theme that I'm hearing a lot at the moment. And it's everyone from people in their 20s & 30s (quarter life crisis is a thing) to people a bit further along in their career journey - who want to be more deliberate in their next step, to use their expertise to really have an impact. Figuring out what's next, wherever you're at, can be a challenge. We often think about what's possible, logical or sensible as a next step, without stepping back and thinking through what we want. We subconsciously eliminate options because we think we can't do it. We don't know where to start. We end up going round in circles, only to realise we're still doing the same thing and feeling the same frustrations. Investing in yourself via coaching can: - give you the courage to explore, with a process you can trust; - help create clear goals and concrete actions for you to action in your busy life, and - help keep you accountable, so you get you to your goals faster The Confident Career program does exactly what it says on the box. In a handful of sessions, we'll get to the heart of what you really want. And then we work on how to get it. To get you started on figuring out what you want, get the free workbook on my website. I guarantee this will help you create some perspective, dig a bit deeper and it might even help clarify a pathway forward for you. So, in the words of Molly Meldrum - do yourself a favour! (And don't still be having the same thoughts in a year from now)! Download it here: https://lnkd.in/gSc5tt3z ___________________________________________________________________ 👋 Hi, I'm Liz, and I help people organise their thoughts, so they can make clear and confident decisions. I think that there's more to life than work, but given most of us still spend a fair bit of time working, we should strive to make it rewarding and fulfilling. I'd love to talk to you more about it....!

Simple steps for making better decisions at work and in life: 1) Define decision criteria 2) List out possible options 3) Evaluate options against criteria Most of the time people skip #1 and #3 They jump right into the world of possibilities and get lost in some winding circular logic like this... “I feel undervalued at work and kind of want to quit but I make a lot of money and there is this possible promotion I can get next year so it may make sense to hold out but also I think about just leaving altogether and becoming a plumber so I don’t have so much work stress because….” Dude… what are you trying to solve for? Feeling valued? Getting promoted? Making money? Less stress? Something else? What is the most important thing? How do other things stack up in relative importance? Answer these questions to arrive at your decision criteria. They are the harder questions to answer, so people love to skip over them. Spend time up front interrogating, debating and aligning on your decision criteria, steps 2 and 3 become much easier. The right decision may rise up to the surface.

Navigating Professional Setbacks: The Power of Reflection and Resilience In our fast-paced professional world, it's easy to feel stuck when faced with setbacks or when our carefully laid plans go awry. Recently, I was reminded of a valuable lesson that I'd like to share with my network: When you encounter obstacles or things don't go as planned, take a moment to be still. Embrace the current situation as a learning opportunity and a chance for reflection. Yes, sitting with discomfort is challenging, especially in a results-driven environment. However, it's often in these moments of pause that things begin to fall into place. Consider this: 1. Assess your journey: You'll likely find you've come further than you realize. 2. Embrace the unknown: Often, what you've worked for is aligning behind the scenes. 3. Trust the process: Everything will come together in its own time and manner. This approach isn't about passive acceptance, but rather active reflection and strategic patience. It's about building resilience and maintaining perspective in the face of professional challenges. So, the next time you face a setback, remember: Inhale deeply. Exhale slowly. Trust in your capabilities and the process. Reflection: How do you handle professional setbacks? What strategies help you stay focused on long-term goals when facing short-term challenges? #ProfessionalResilience #CareerDevelopment #LeadershipInsights

Ex- junior told me few days back - Sir my manager is really annoying, he's micromanaging and he told: without discussing the work completed don't leave home, it'll not be entertained further, what can i do sir? I gently told: It's better to stay away from such idiots than to go through it everyday. Your thoughts? #career #thoughts #worklifebalance #focus #support
