No one was more amazed at the magic of growth-oriented #privateequity careers in the 2010-2021 period than us. Ivy league MBAs were in incredibly high demand, pushing mid-level compensation programs to all time highs in private asset firms of all types. Financial engineering and opaque fees won the day with acceptable returns flowing to asset owners. But the bubble is unfolding, and the real skills of making a struggling company more profitable are now coming into view. We expect a new wave of executive demand in the operations improvement arena to drive several years of robust executive recruiting partnerships to fill this gap. We hope you are on the right side of this curve. https://lnkd.in/eafxVK7D

If you want to secure a role in private equity, your relevant industry experience is critical. Private equity firms typically aim for high returns, commonly targeting capital returns of 2x - 5x or more on their investments. To do that in a compressed time frame, they need industry experts with proven track records of achieving results. Here is how to better position yourself for private equity roles: - Emphasize Your Industry Expertise: Highlight your industry-specific expertise. - Target PE Firms that Invest in Your Industries: Each PE firm typically invests in specific industries. Identify the ones that are directly or tangentially actively investing in your industries. - Serve as a Thought Leader: Make yourself available as a consultant to PE firms in your industries. Offer strategic guidance, introductions, and due diligence support. 🔥 Bonus: If you know of any potential bolt-on opportunities, offer to make an introduction to one or two of your target PE firms. The bolt-ons don’t have to be sizable - they can be as small as $1MM in revenues if they have valuable IP. But it gives you a ton of credibility with the PE firm. Want to join private equity? Send me a message with your email and resume. I’ll let you know when Thrive Resources’s next program waitlist opens.

Berkshire Hathaway, run by legendary investor, Warren Buffett, has been on of the best performing companies over the last 50+ years. When asked what their best investment ever was, Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger replied - "Paying the recruiting fee to find and hire Ajit Jain" Ajit was hired many years ago to grow and redefine their reinsurance division, which he grew with incredible returns. As many companies continue to invest in new technology (rightfully so), the best investment is often finding outstanding talent. https://lnkd.in/egtya5ZM #talentacquisition #humancapital
