Staying engaged with candidates during the hiring process is so important. I have had multiple shocked employers who lost a good candidate because they were taking too long in the hiring process. The easiest way to avoid this is to create a hiring roadmap that you can relay to your recruiter or directly to your candidates. Let them know exactly what the hiring process is going to look like and the timeframe. If there needs to be any deviation from this, communicate the reason for the change and how it will affect the overall roadmap. This will help keep candidates engaged throughout the process and is also a great way to show your future employees how much you care.
