If you make your way to the Jacksonville International Airport take a look at these handwork and art pieces made by students at our Beach campus. Every student in Kindergarten through 5th grade was represented in the wave, while 6th through 8th grade created the handwork and 2D art pieces. Thank you to Jacksonville International Airport for allowing Seaside to flood the walls with our students artwork. Another huge thank you to our Art Teacher, Samantha Craig and our Handwork Teacher, Julie Holt-Edwards for their contributions to this project and giving the world a glimpse into our very special school #SeasideCharterSchools #HeadHeartHands #HowWeWaldorf #SeasideDifference #PublicWaldorf #PublicCharter #DCPS

Words of Wisdom To Educators at the Elementary Level ~CREATIVITY A POWERFUL TEACHING TOOL FOR EDUCATORS 🌹Arts have been a universal form of symbolic communication for thousands of years by cultures around the world. 🌹Humans crave to express themselves in a variety of ways. The arts always followed interest, and interest, in turn, following utility. 🌹Cave art, carved rocks, architecture, sculpture, totem poles, and pottery are examples of ways people have used color, pattern, proportion, and perspectives over the years. 🌹In schools, crafts can be used to endear parents to you. Everyone loves when their children bring back arts and crafts made at school. 🌹The importance of introducing and sustaining craft making in your school has far-reaching advantages. I can testify to this. ...We are now on Tiktok. Kindly follow us, like and share our posts.♥️ ✍️Video Excerpt From School Improvement Ideas. #fittoriseinitiative #educationalsupport

Q: How do you get crisp lines and sharp edges? A: Two things help with this, first is the type of nozzle I use on the aerosol. A skinny cap helps slows down the paint and sprays at a smaller diameter. I use a skinny cap for all the outlines of the shapes and also angle the can in the right direction to get a smooth line. The other super handy tool is a piece of cardboard. It’s such a simple thing, but I use it so much to mask of corners and lines and help with creating corners. I used this a lot on the green spiky leaf. I get asked so many great questions when I'm painting a mural. The best questions always come from the students while I'm doing a residency. At my latest school, Tyndale Christian School, I put together all of their questions in a blog for the project. You'll find it on my website titled; "TYNDALE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE". If you have more questions, I'd be happy to answer them too.
