A world-first-of-its-kind, the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) v2.1 Planning Rating offers a framework for embedding sustainability into an asset at its earliest considerations and provides the benchmarks and assurances needed to implement sustainability successfully. In this launch event video, expert speakers: - introduce you to the tool and give you an overview of the IS v2.1 Planning Benchmarks - demonstrate how the strategic planning and detailed planning tool can unlock, enable and measure broader potential outcomes on your infrastructure projects by minimising risk from the delivery phase - Showcase the Bunbury Outer Ring Road case study - Demonstrate alignment with business case frameworks in Australia and New Zealand Implementing sustainability is set to change the way decision makers, asset owners, investors, and delivery authorities approach infrastructure planning. Transforming Facilities Management with 29+ Years of Asset, Real Estate Operations and Business Development Expertise
In the recent announcement of IFMA's new global board of directors, it’s interesting to note the geographic distribution of representation. Out of the 12 members, 6 are from the USA, and 9 are from the Americas, leaving Europe represented by two members and one from Asia. Unfortunately, there is no representation from Australia, South America, Africa, or the Middle East. This composition reflects IFMA's longstanding focus on the American market, despite their efforts to globalize. Even their CFM certification seems primarily designed around the American context, which raises questions about the "global" nature of the board. For IFMA to truly embody a global presence, it should strive for a more inclusive and diverse representation across all continents. Expanding their reach and influence will better reflect the international community they aim to serve. #IFMA #FacilityManagement #GlobalLeadership #DiversityAndInclusion #ConstructiveCriticism

Quantifying and cataloging building assets are a key part of combatting deferred maintenance across aging campus buildings. These tactics can enable strategic planning of static buildings but what happens when you start taking these buildings out of use for redesign? How do you adjust classroom schedules and reconfigure the campus space planning puzzle? We'd add a step 6: understand building and floor utilization to enable space optimization with real data. This opens you up to opportunities for surge spacing and renovations without new leases or disrupting campus productivity.
Are you struggling with aging campus infrastructure? At our recent retreat, Warren Celiz, the Vice President of Global Workplace Services, and Will Webster, Senior Managing Director at CBRE, shared their blueprint for tackling this problem. They emphasized data-driven practices that can help extend asset lifecycles and reduce costs. Watch the full presentation on our blog 👇 https://hubs.li/Q02p5TL80

It would be difficult to celebrate our 70th anniversary without recognizing the single most important transformation in Gateway's history - our strategic decision to become a Project Focused Organization (PFO). The Project Focused Organization is an organizational philosophy and structure in which individual projects are the focal element, where everyone and everything in the organization is focused on the selling and executing of projects. The term PFO was first introduced to our President Emeritus, Daniel S. Deiseroth, P.E., when attending a seminar on the philosophy. It was there that Dan met Bob Maxman, an industry professional providing management consultant and support services to architectural, engineering and construction firms. With Bob's guidance, Gateway adopted the PFO structure and hired Mike Zavoina in 1998 as its CEO. The transformation from a traditional, department-based organization to a project focused organization ensured that client projects were always the main focal point of the business. Today, Gateway's practice as a PFO continues to fuel our growth and operational excellence and is one of our core brand pillars: People, Projects, and Purpose. #GatewayEngineers #PeopleProjectsAndPurpose #CivilEngineering #70Years
