Excited to share MCTA is launching the new Tap & Dash open loop payment system on January 2, 2025! This innovative system, procured through the Cal-ITP: California Integrated Travel Project and in partnership with Kuba Group, Littlepay, and Elavon, Inc., will make paying for fares easier and more convenient for all riders. Key highlights include: The Payment Acceptance Device (PAD) that allows passengers to pay with existing bank cards, smartphones, and smartwatches. Acceptance of digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Cash App. Fare capping that ensures riders won't pay more than a certain amount within a specific time period. Automatic tracking of payments so that riders will be charged the correct fare. This system is designed to enhance the rider experience by providing a seamless and modern payment process. It will streamline boarding, reduce cash handling, and offer fare capping benefits that reward frequent riders. Did you know the Bellagio fountain system has been a long-time application project for Proportion-Air? Components in operation today include a mix of current and legacy parts in assemblies. The pilot units are QBS high pressure regulators and QBT series regulators. They even still operate some BB units, a series that was retired more than 10 years ago!
