This is a story about you because you are at the heart of everything we do at the Seattle Public Library. We asked you how the Library should change and grow over the next 10 years. That's how we created our Strategic Plan to make this vision a reality. The Strategic Plan is more than ideas. It's a guide we'll follow to improve services for everyone and make a lasting impact on our city. We're taking steps to be a place where literacy comes through greater access to resources and opportunities so you can read, learn, and navigate our world. Where empowerment builds confidence, so you can reach for your goals from a space that's equitable, diverse, and inclusive and accessible for all. Where enrichment brings you joy and connection through our collections, programs, services and spaces. A library whose funding is consistent with approaches that support current and future needs, with the capacity to serve our community thanks to a team that feels supported and reflects our city. Where sustainability is central to our planning, which includes upkeep of buildings and improved technology too.
