Electricity North West’s ‘Connect and Manage’ research in ED1 showed how monitoring and analysis of the network can enable significant additional load capacity to be released using existing customer assets. Moving into ED2, Kelvatek are continuing to strategically install #PRESense to maximise savings for customers and facilitate the adoption of low carbon technologies. Last month, got the opportunity to speak to over 350 industry representatives about FERC Order 1920, and FERC's multi-year effort to adapt traditional transmission planning approaches to meet future system needs. In the context of emerging reliability challenges, such as the changing resource mix and increasing/changing demands, this important FERC action represents a landmark change in the space that promotes a measured development of the transmission system that’s critically needed. A bulk system that would provide additional flexibility and resilience under a wide variety of system conditions. O1920 will require industry to consider an increasingly integrated planning approach to quantify seven distinct benefits when assessing transmission projects, notwithstanding a 20-year timeline under several, distinct scenarios. So great to see Doug articulate the incredible work done by so few in such a short period of time. IMO Benjamin Richardson and Andrew Higier Ph.D. Built the single greatest capability multiplier in tech and it’s not talked about enough. Big kudos to the builders: Doug French Dan Nidess Jack Ryan Matt Palumbo Marshall Witkowski Heath Morrison and all the other 30+ people in the energy portfolio.
