Running an excavator remotely at WesTrac Cat! For those (few) who read captions, this technology is for SPECIFIC applications such as unstable ground, unloading barges, ash pond work, and even nuclear cleanup. The second application is work that requires lots of travel / minimal operating time. For example, one operator could operate loaders at various rural gravel pits that may only see a truck or two daily. Here, they’re even demonstrating the Trimble grade control system. All displays and controls are identical to the machine’s cab. Even better, with the flick of a button, the machine can run like any other excavator. #betterdirtworld

What is a tubular #flowreactor? A tubular flow reactor has a cylindrical reactor tube with a constant diameter, within which the reaction mixture flows continuously, like the Coflore ATR. Our ATR is configured with up to eight reactor tubes in series to exhibit plug flow performance equivalent to many tens of CSTRs in a series. A tubular flow reactor that employs dynamic transverse mixing provides the ability to maintain plug flow and good mixing independently of fluid velocity. This contributes to greater flexibility and suitability for multi-kilogram production of various materials at pilot scale, including the essential slurries involved in both hydrogenation and Grignard reactions. View the ATR here! 🤩 https://bit.ly/3RXmvoI #flowchemistry #pilotproduction

Happy Hydrogen Day 2024!! Did you know that October 8th (10.08) was chosen as National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day in reference to the atomic weight of hydrogen? I'm personally excited to be working on the future of Hydrogen Liquefaction at Chart by doing all kinds of stress analysis and mechanical design on a new generation of H2 Liquefaction Vacuum Cold Box. Element Resources plans to distribute this Liquid H2 produced via 100% Green Energy (solar) in the Southern California region. This will be the largest capacity Green Hydrogen plant in Chart history (and I believe the largest in CA as well). I can't wait to get this equipment designed and manufactured here in the "Cryogenic Capital of the USA - the Lehigh Valley, PA". Then it will be shipped to Lancaster, CA for installation and I'm looking forward to visiting the plant site location in the near future. I'll be sure to stop by some of the high-tech aircraft museums as well near Edwards AFB and USAF Plant 42, "the Stealth Bomber Manufacturing Capital of the USA." #HydrogenDay2024 #NexusOfClean https://lnkd.in/e4e7teRW Below is an example of a smaller, previous generation H2 Liquefaction Vacuum Coldbox. All of the piping, frame, and pressure vessels require careful stress analysis. It's exciting to see it all come together.

As a #chemist, do you dread having to adjust your costly glassware during vessel changes or setup for fear of damage? That’s exactly why we engineered the Orb Pilot Jacketed Reactor with a force-limited clamp – an innovative feature that ensures your vessels and lids remain undamaged during changes, minimising the risk of expensive replacements. The Orb Pilot isn't just a reactor; it's a game-changer in #BatchProcess scaling. Take a look: https://ow.ly/9WRU50Qkv7k #ScaleUpChemistry

Did you know that #hydrostatic bearings enable large telescopes to move smoothly? #Hydrostatic load bearing, the technique of moving a great load on a pad of pressurized oil, was probably first demonstrated as an amusing phenomenon at the Paris Industrial Exposition of 1878 in a purposeless device labeled 'Le Chemin de For de Glace' (The Ice Railway). Seventy years later the principles were objectively revived and improved for application to the problems attending the drives to machine tool slides and the moving bearings encountered in telescope engineering. Today, no large telescope is planned without taking advantage of the phenomenal improvement over conventional types that is afforded by these bearings. At Bost Machine Tools Company S.L.U. , we manufacture Premium Vertical Lathes with all #Hydrostatic guideways, which give to our machines: .- almost no wear and very long machine life. This means an excellent ROI. .- amazing damping ability. .- high load capacity and stiffness. .- ultra high precision (no stick-slip effect). Bost Machine Tools Company S.L.U. means #Hydrostatic. Are you ready to play in Champions League using Bost Machine Tools Company S.L.U. unique #Hydrostatic Technology? Please call us and our experts will offer you their best advice? #Bost2025 #PremiumVTLs #Hydrostatic #Hightech #Precision #Accuracy #Reliability #iBost #Trust #Confidence #Windmill #Hydro #Nuclear #Aerospace #Mining #OilandGas #Defense #HeavyEngineering #Automation

I can't wait to see tele-robotic activities like this in the space environment, especially with regard to the moon, since anything further would experience too much latency. Also looking forward to more of this type of work on Earth regardless of the application. The potential to utilize both human capital and machine capital that would typically be sitting idle opens up huge swaths of development/opportunities/progress. Imagine being able to telerobotically assist in replanting forests from an office building (or your own home) thousands of miles away. Or helping out on a farm. Or assisting the elderly. Or anything. Anywhere. At any time. Teleoperation of equipment and machinery is the answer to the continued ineffectiveness of AI systems to perform work that requires nuanced discretion. Not to say that humans can't or shouldn't keep being directly employed in or volunteering in these types of work, but that this technology radically increases access to and participation from larger numbers of people in the most needed fields of activity. Building. Maintenance. Agriculture. Heavy industry. Healthcare. Environmental restoration. You name it.
