The RIA M&A landscape remains robust, with 52 deals in Q4 2023, totaling $54 billion in assets. Despite fluctuations, this trend is expected to persist due to steady fundamentals, creative deal structures, and increased interest from private equity. Fidelity's report highlights Texas emerging as a significant financial hub, with California, the Northeast, and the Midwest also seeing notable activity. Private equity continues to drive transactions, comprising 78% of deals in 2023. While 2023 didn't set records, it showcased resilience, stability, and adaptability, setting the stage for continued evolution in 2024. At last! The recent uptick in private equity action shows that big money is moving in the financial world. In the first half of 2024, PE-backed M&A deals surged by 36%, hitting a massive $369.5 billion. With private equity making up 24% of all M&A deals, it's evident that the financial landscape is set for some exciting twists.
