⚠ GDPR fines are to be imposed in a standardised manner across Europe according to the European Data Protection Board. The new requirements could be quite expensive for some companies. 👇 Fines for violations of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or national data protection law still vary greatly across the EU. This initiative aims to assess the application of these rules, marking the 6th anniversary since their implementation. Building upon the 2020 report, this call for evidence is a crucial step towards enhancing data protection practices. Indeed, as per the provisions of Article 97 in the GDPR, stipulating that the Commission must present these reports every four years, the upcoming report is scheduled for submission by mid-2024. 🗓️ Act now! Companies that are doing business with the European Union and collecting, processing, storing or transferring EU resident personal data are subject to EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. "Personal data" includes information that is capable of identifying a natural person, such as a name, address, email address, or telephone number. Personal data collected in the business-to-business context is subject to these requirements. Given that penalties for violating the GDPR can be significant, companies processing EU resident personal data need to have documented policies and processes to comply with GDPR requirements.
