Under the new General Product Safety Regulation, when information on a product safety recall is addressed to consumers in writing, it must take the form of a #recallnotice. This initiative sets out the #recall notice template listing all the information that it must contain. The template will make it easier for businesses to issue recall notices and for consumers to identify them and be properly informed about product recalls.

🔍 The EU Commission’s new template for recall notices, part of the Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988, will be in effect from 13 December 2024. It’s designed to standardise safety communications for consumers. Businesses are encouraged to use this template to ensure compliance and effectively manage product recalls. Background: The new General Product Safety Regulation contains rules on product recalls. Under the Regulation, when information on a product safety recall is sent to consumers in writing, it must be in the form of a 'recall notice', which will be annexed to the Regulation.
