Think #Cassava!
Why Cassava?

2. Cassava is drought-tolerant, making it a resilient option in regions prone to erratic rainfall or prolonged dry spells.
3. Cassava has various uses, from food to industrial applications, it's a crop with high demand and we make the market available at #Cultifar.
4. Cassava is rich in carbohydrates and can contribute to food security, especially in areas where access to diverse food sources is limited.

Did you know that there are over 120,000 varieties of rice in the world? On my farm, we grow 20 unique varieties, including sake and sushi rice, as well as red and purple rice, which are high in antioxidants.
You might be wondering why we focus on specialty rice. The answer is simple - it's more profitable for farmers. While plain long-grain white rice dominates the commodity market, specialty rice commands a premium price. By gaining access to specialty contracts, farmers can earn more revenue per acre and have more economic freedom in deciding on their rotation.
So, the next time you're enjoying a delicious sushi roll, take a moment to think about the American rice farmer.

The July 2021 issue of the NYT Magazine article, "Learning to Love GMOs" is an informative read for anyone interested leveraging the power of science to create a more diverse array of fruits and vegetables that have broader taste appeal:

...favorite quote in article about reducing fear over GMOs, "almost everything we grow and eat today has had its DNA altered extensively. For millenniums, farmers, discovering that one version of a plant — usually a random genetic mutant — was hardier, or sweeter, or had smaller seeds, would cross it with another that, say, produced more fruit, in hopes of getting both benefits. But the process was slow."
What are your thoughts on GMOs or amazing CRISPR technology to improve the nutritional value of fresh foods?

Did you know that over half of the peanuts in the U.S. are consumed as peanut butter?
FloRun ‘52N’ is a normal oleic cultivar which is a trait that is preferred by some of the largest producers of peanut butter in the U.S. Additionally, this cultivar has shown to have higher yield potential than 'Georgia-06G', the current dominant normal oleic cultivar in the industry. '52N' also has high grades and a competitive disease-resistance package, making it an appealing variety for peanut growers.
