Lots to take in here at Startupfest! A highlight was today's panel as part of #Impactfest with Hilary Kilgour with Audaxa Ventures, Louis Delorme, CPA, CFA with Amplify Capital and Lyne Landry, ICD.D with AgeTech Collaborative™ from AARP Capital. Key takeaways: - Theory of change needs to be focusing on outcomes - Articulate expectations and education around impact outcome metrics for founders when going into an funding round. This way the whole founding team will be aligned on this important work - Think about cap table diversity just like having team diversity. A range of perspectives is how you will be set up for success - Materiality assessment for a large is not relevant for early stage startups - We need to align on metrics that make sense for the stage of the company - Ensure that even after you get acquired that you continue the impact and fuel that further (rather than have it lost) #startupfest2024 Startup Atlantic Charlotte Murray

Always pleased to present at Vancouver’s largest start-up event of the year – Vancouver Startup Week 2024. Many thanks to Katty Wang, Vivian Lago (Chan) and all the hard-working volunteers in pulling this week-long conference together. In two weeks, come join us at the And-Co Offices for our highly popular and well-received session on PITCHING YOUR TRACTION & TRAJECTORY. June 4th, 10:00am PST Founders are passionate about pitching their innovation. But Funders want to hear about your current “Traction,” your future “Trajectory,” and your “Target ROI” at exit. Even if you’re at the early stages of development, you can present positive progress, demonstrate financial fluency, and illustrate a scalable revenue model that will support a favourable return. During this two-hour presentation, we’ll explain the optimal approach for “Selling Your Story” to Funders. We’ll walk you through how to “Pitch” your Traction, “Engineer” your Trajectory, and make your venture opportunity attractive to investors. “FINALLY! I’ve engaged in my fair share of advising, incubators and accelerators, but have struggled to feel confident when it comes to venture modelling. In a surprisingly short amount of time, Chris and Colin managed to make it all make sense, tying everything together so I could truly understand the relationship and interconnectedness between money modelling, sales strategy, and fundraising. I wish I had access to this sort of integrated knowledge earlier in my entrepreneurship journey, but am grateful to move forward with clearer perspective and understanding.” -- Karen Richards, Founder & CEO, Made Live (VSW2023) https://lnkd.in/ewV6bf6 www.salesprimer.ca “Without Sales, All Else Fails!” #VSW2024, #VSW, #VanStartupWeek #sales #financials #fundraising #funders #founders #growth #entrepreneurs #innovation #startups
