I learned about something new today: The zebra movement. It's an antidote to unicorns, which are startups growing their revenue at all costs to achieve a valuation of $1+ billion. Zebras focus on growing a business in a way that delivers a positive impact on the world, prioritising sustainability, social responsibility and community. It's black and white – both profitable and values-driven. Instead of growth at all costs, zebra startups strive for reasonable growth. Like zebras in the wild, they consider themselves as part of a herd, co-existing with others instead of aggressively aiming to outperform competitors.
