Helping Australian business owners legally secure and protect their valuable intellectual property and business
Attention: Australian small business owners I didn't know this until today but having a legally compliant privacy policy actually helps with SEO and the Google search algorithm! So, again, having these legal documents in place is actually really good for your marketing. The reasons why it helps with search results are: 1. It assists Google's Page Experience Algorithm to show trust; 2. Increases Google's view of User Experience and site structure; 3. It shows you're not a fly-by-the-night company and proves your legitimacy; 4. Shows Google you are compliant with local laws and regulations (e.g. if you need to be compliant in Australia or EU - GDPR compliance); 5. Assists greatly with local SEO; and 6. Since the December 2022 update rollout, Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness (EEAT) have been important ranking signals. Privacy policies add to this EEAT. Search engine crawlers are looking for all of the above so a legally compliant privacy policy is required to rank better! Also, in this day and age of concerns over privacy and data protection, privacy policies are becoming more and more important from a consumer/client perspective. i.e. some clients/consumers are making decisions to purchase based on this especially if the information being provided is sensitive/personal. At the end of the day, most customers/clients will not read the privacy policies, and even if you're not legally required to have one, it's still good business to have one and do it properly. It helps with the marketing, your Google rankings and shows legitimacy and trust with your business. I just didn't realise how important it is from Google's perspective from a ranking perspective until now. So, it's a no-brainer. Happy to help get it sorted for you or if you want a review of one you've had done previously. #googleranking #privacy #privacypolicy
