What’s the Facies Log? Facies log is a geological record of the different rock types or facies present in a stratigraphic sequence. This log is an essential tool in geological interpretation, reservoir characterization, and hydrocarbon exploration. Creating a facies log requires a systematic approach and an understanding of the sedimentary processes that led to the formation of the rock layers.
