I help medical students and early career physicians get what they want in their personal and professional lives.
How to become a physician: Old way -graduate medical school -complete internship -pass a licensure exam -build your practice through ER call and earning the trust of patients -serve as a pillar of your community New way -graduate medical school -pass licensure exam sequence -complete internship/residency/fellowship -pass board certification exam -sign an employment contract as a replaceable commodity saddled with >$400k in debt Extra regulatory hoops and feeling valued less for service are very real emotions of the current generation of physicians. #innovation #bureaucracy #burnout #poordocs #healthcare
I can't say much else other than this is an excellent post Seger S. Morris, DO, MBA
1000% Agree!
A change is on the way :) this generation of healthcare professionals are going to correct these deeply entrenched problems 👏🏼
Change happens, but deeply rooted in all physicians will always be their desire to help the patient. The best way for physicians to fulfill this desire is for them to sharpen their skills and feel confident.
This is sadly so true! And the outcome of this new “physician path” is burnout, lack of job satisfaction, low retention, medical errors, low quality of patient care…. An awful healthcare system.

9moIt seems to be the old way was driven by the physician-patient relationship while the new way is driven my metrics and numbers. This is not to discount incredible advancements in tech and pt care we are now afforded but physicians need to take ownership and be the leaders. We are not the machine, we are the operators and seek the best for our patients and each other. Always appreciate your thoughtful insights and comments.
