Private 5G Networks and IoT Sensors? Due to their dedicated and secure infrastructure, private 5G networks are emerging as ideal solutions for locales like office complexes, ports, and factories. However, when it comes to indoor IoT applications, particularly sensors, they face challenges. IoT: A vast realm of opportunities with sensor networks, actuator controls, and object positioning at its heart. Private 5G: While these networks operate efficiently in significant locales, their predominant operation is in the higher 3 GHz band (this is the situation in Sweden, most likely in the EU but perhaps not in the whole world). This poses challenges for IoT on the device side. Currently, the market lacks modules for 5G compatible with private networks. Private 5G networks hold immense promise for the future of digital transformation and IoT. Soon, modules will most likely be available, but until then, private 5G and LPWAN can rarely be combined. #5g #challenges #iot

Certainly Ulf! Consider a large manufacturing plant that wants to implement IoT sensors for predictive maintenance and real-time monitoring of machinery. Private 5G networks could provide the necessary connectivity and low latency required for these applications, but the challenge lies in finding compatible 5G modules for the sensors. Once such modules become readily available, the plant can harness the full potential of private 5G for optimizing their operations. #iot #5g #technologyrevolution #digitaltransformation

Great post Ulf! Private 5G networks offer huge potential for digital transformation and IoT, but the lack of currently available modules is a roadblock. It will be interesting to see how this develops over time as more private network compatible 5G modules become available.

Totally get you Ulf! But don't you think we should also consider having monitoring on 5G even if it's private ones. 5G have a lot of promises but we should have the possibility of having an overview on the 5G metrics to optimize it !
