Yesterday marked my second work anniversary! While milestones like 1, 5, or 10 years are often celebrated, I believe every step forward deserves recognition. These two years have been a journey of learning, growth, and connection—something I don’t take for granted. In the whirlwind of day-to-day routines, it’s easy to overlook how far we’ve come. So today, I want to pause and reflect: Gratitude: I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunities I’ve had, the mentors who’ve guided me, and the teammates who’ve collaborated with me. Each conversation, challenge, and success has added value to my personal and professional journey. Growth: Over these two years, I’ve faced new challenges, developed skills I didn’t know I had, and built relationships that inspire me every day. The moments of discomfort have often been the ones that pushed me to grow the most. Appreciation: Life moves fast, but taking a moment to appreciate where I am reminds me of the effort and support that brought me here. It’s not just about the milestones—it’s about the journey. I recently passed my 3-year work anniversary—and many (too many LOL) more years in the People field. Reflecting on this, I can't help but acknowledge how close I once came to walking away entirely. There was a time when I felt exhausted, uncertain in my decisions, and isolated despite being party of a team. I questioned whether THIS is what I was meant to be doing... or just something I had stumbled into. But stepping back led to clarity. I had conversations, I learned more about roles, some in P&C and some not. Through those conversations, I uncovered some truths: My exhaustion wasn’t burnout—it was boredom. My uncertainty wasn't a lack of confidence - it was a lack of alignment with the company’s people vision. My isolation wasn't that I was alone - it was not having a voice or a “seat at the table” to influence change. The turning point? A conversation with a CEO who listened to my People vision and said, “Let’s lean into that.” That simple affirmation was HUGE. It reminded me how powerful it is to have someone share your vision, respect your perspective, and get excited about the same things you are. I wasn't unhappy in HR— but frustrated in how my organization viewed HR. I’ll always be grateful to that CEO. They (most likely) unknowingly played a huge role in where I am today. Without them, my career crisis could have had a very different outcome. To anyone questioning their path: take the time to listen to yourself and explore. The clarity is worth it. This month, I celebrated my 13th work anniversary 😱, and what an incredible experience it has been! From day one, I’ve been fortunate to be part of this amazing organisation, and I’m thrilled to share some reflections on this milestone. Key Lessons Learned: 1. Resilience: Over the years, I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, and unexpected twists. But each time, I’ve bounced back stronger, learning that resilience is essential. 2. Collaboration: Teamwork makes the dream work! As I step into my role as head of the department, I appreciate the power of collaboration. Together, we achieve more. 3. 3 years in a -work anniversary has never felt so good! Happy third work anniversary to me! A work anniversary has never meant that much to me. But 3 years since founding House of Kitch, doing what I believe in and making it work, feels very special. Thanks to all of you who have believed in me, trusted me, shared with me, and been part of making it real Parexel PAREXEL International (India) Private Ltd It's hard to believe that 3 years have gone by already! Three beautiful and fulfilling years during which I have expanded my horizons both professionally and personally. Three years of gratitude for being part of this amazing company! Top 3 learnings: 1. You are the author of your own destiny:- I have been stretched more than ever before, and the uncertainty and ambiguity can be a major challenge. I have found that structuring my business around my purpose and staying true to that helps me get through the ambiguity. Some days it feels like this, but knowing why I am doing what I am doing is my compass, and it helps to bring others with me. 2.Doing what you believe in is exhilarating and exhausting at the same time:- They say that doing what you believe in doesn’t feel like work – and it doesn’t. But it can be really intense as everything matters so much more. The work that we do takes me on such intense journeys, and the connections are really strong. There is something about purpose that transcends effort. The challenge is there is no clocking on and clocking off, it’s a constant journey. The important thing is having people that I value on the journey with me. 3.Healthy body + healthy mind = healthy ideas:- You have to keep balance, mentally and physically – for me these two things are intertwined. When you are working continuously , it can be really hard to feel ok about breaking away from your desk to get some exercise or go outside for a walk. If you want to set your mind free, you really have to set yourself free first. Creativity comes from many different places – you usually have to leave your desk to find it. And then there are the times when you just need to switch off, and that takes its own discipline – one that I am still working on. Greatful! Dr. Shivani Bhola

After three month marks my 3-year IMS Work anniversary! 🎉 As I reflect on nearly a decade here, I wanted to share the top 5 lessons I’ve learned about career development— at IMS People Possible. 1. Own your career: No one will care about your career as much as you do—not your manager nor your leaders. Take ownership, speak up, and advocate for your own growth. 2. Own your calendar: Your time is one of your MOST valuable assets, so protect it. Be intentional about how you spend it, set boundaries, and prioritize what matters most for your career goals. If you don’t manage your calendar, someone else will. 3. Focus on impact: Prioritize work that truly matters. When you focus on projects that solve real problems or create value (whether for users, your team, or the company) you drive results and position yourself as someone who makes a difference. 4. Be adaptable and embrace change: Change is constant, especially in tech. Being flexible and willing to take on new challenges not only helps you keep up but also positions you to lead in an ever-evolving landscape. 5. Seek mentorship and sponsorship: Mentors guide you, and sponsors advocate for you. Both are invaluable and worth seeking out to accelerate your growth. These lessons have been incredibly helpful and I hope you find value in them. No matter where you are in your journey, there’s always room to grow. Do any of these stand out to you?

This past July, I hit my 2-year work anniversary and better late than never to reflect! So here are 5 key takeaways from my journey so far. 1. Things do get easier (I promise!): It's not hard to remember my first day at work. I got a stress headache in the middle of the day, and had to take a nap. I'd get panic sweats every time I had to prepare for a call, and even as I changed verticals / roles, I felt like it never got easier. But now in hindsight, it's easy to see that slowly but surely, I became more confident in my capabilities. When you're starting out, you're always starting from the bottom, which means you can truly only go upwards. Eventually, you'll look back and see how much you've grown. 2. Experiment - you need it: There's a lot of opposing thoughts when it comes to the idea of experimenting, but I personally believe experimenting at the start of your career sets you up for success later. Whether you're planning for higher education or continuing up the ladder, when you try out different profiles or organisations, you get a better idea of what excites you and which profiles fit your goals and skills. But give things ample time, before you decide what works and what doesn't. 3. Take matters into your hands: I've worked in start-ups and I've worked in corporate, and one thing that always holds true - waiting gets you nowhere. Timelines are tight, people are busy and the probability of someone telling you what needs to be done, and how to do it are slim. It's a tough to hear, but it's true. So get started on figuring things out and then chart out where you need assistance. (Doing this made me more confident and I ended up figuring my way around projects much faster.) 4. Underselling yourself does you no favours: This goes out especially to all young women out there. For the longest time, I thought going above and beyond with my work, without making it apparent, was the way to go. After all, they would notice right? WRONG! No one notices unless you point it out. You're your biggest champion so never fail to make it known about what you're owning. Keep track of your tasks and projects and let your manager know (at the appropriate time, of course). This also leads to my next point - 5. Ask without shame: The world of work is built on asks across every way. We ask from vendors, partners ask from us. So it makes total sense for you to openly ask about what you want. Whether it's the promotion, the raise, the change in profile or tasks - whatever. Don't shy away, but do make sure you have the proof to back it up. 6. It's work, nothing personal: And finally, don't ever lose sight that it's just work. It's a part of your life, but not the entire thing. Learn to take feedback with a pinch of salt (feedback, not disrespect) and find a circle for yourself outside of the cubicle.
