Yesterday in Sydney, #Sekuro co-hosted a Cyber Leadership Exchange bringing together thought leaders and experts across government, business, cyber security, legal and insurance. The event featured a virtual keynote address by Tony Chapman, Deputy National Cyber Security Coordinator and First Assistant Secretary at the National Office of Cyber Security, who provided key updates on the progress of the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy. Following his address, Shamane Tan, Sekuro’s Chief Growth Officer, moderated an insightful panel session with esteemed leaders, including: - Assistant Director Cyber Security Engagement within the National Office of Cyber Security Jessica Thomas - Governance Institute of Australia CEO Megan Motto - Marsh McLennan Pacific Head of Cyber Gill Collins - Mills Oakley Partner Jason Symons and - Sekuro CEO Noel Allnutt Conversations and insights ranged from: prevailing cyber threat trends, and how businesses can adapt, survive and thrive in the face of increasingly sophisticated threats; the confluence of risk management, governance, compliance, and corresponding insurance and legal considerations; Board Directors’ roles in driving oversight on governance and risk; inculcating a culture of proactive risk management, and collaboration in times of crises. With the event at-capacity, it is apparent industry leaders are craving pragmatic and transparent knowledge sharing on systemically building resilient organisations, as was fostered in this cyber leadership exchange. The continuing battle against cyber perpetrators can only be won with unified effort and co-ordination between government, private sector and trusted security partners. We thank our speakers and panelists for their pertinent contributions to the leadership exchange, and to the Mills Oakley team for their continued partnership and for hosting at their premises.
