Siemens: ET200SP Hardware Function Class Selection Guide The SIMATIC ET200SP product line, part of Siemens’ ET200 distributed automation platform, offers a high level functionality in a compact footprint for applications both inside and outside of the control cabinet. Due to this flexibility in ET200SP applications, there are a variety of modules (distinguished by “function class” that affect the application and expansion capabilities. Below is an overview of the different ET200SP hardware components, what their different function classes are, and what applications these classes apply to. Interface Modules (IMs) Each interface module (IM) in the ET200SP product family will display a two-letter notation on the front of the interface module, reflecting one of four function classes to which that module belongs. The different function classes listed below reflect an increasing level of functionality and expansion capabilities. Basic (BA): allows for expansion of up to 12 modules, 2x Ethernet ports, works with all except fail-safe modules, allows for operation with gaps Standard (ST): same features as Basic IMs, with the additional ability to support up to 32 modules, fail-safe hardware, IP 67 environments, and single hot swapping High Feature (HF): same features as Standard IMs, with the additional ability to support up to 64 I/O modules, flexible connections via Bus Adapters, isochronous operating mode of 250 μs, and multi hot swapping High Speed (HS): allows for expansion of up to 30 modules, with the additional ability to support isochronous operating mode of 125μs

DeviceNet Gateways Can Now Be Configured as Scanners Hello [FNAME], The latest update to the DeviceNet Router makes it simple to integrate DeviceNet Devices with a variety of platforms and other devices to streamline equipment modernization. The DeviceNet Router/B module can be configured as a DeviceNet Scanner or a standard DeviceNet Device. It features advanced diagnostics, including packet capture, and support for multiple DeviceNet network baud rates (125K, 250K, 500K). Review the latest blog: Consider the Benefits: DeviceNet Gateways Can Now Be Configured as Scanners Update: Universal QuickServer Gateway Products Have been Upgraded The Universal QuickServer Gateway product line has been upgraded to include a new form factor and a single part number for easier ordering. Additionally, this new hardware provides an option for up to a 1000-point variation with additional options for even larger applications. The Universal QuickServer Gateway line allows for the use of the same configuration files used on previous QuickServer Gateway modules, and has all the same functionalities, now in a newer more compact form factor. ProSoft AN-X4-AB-DHRIO Released! ProSoft modernization solutions help plants connect rather than replace their legacy equipment, extending the life of their assets, while saving time and money. Now, we’re excited to introduce the AN-X4-AB-DHRIO solution which allows customers to modernize their operation at a fraction of the cost of a rip and replace project. The AN-X4-AB-DHRIO will soon include all of the functionality of its predecessor, the AN-X2-AB-DHRIO module, and can be used today as a program legacy processor (PLC5 or SLC), to collect data from legacy processors (PLC5 or SLC500), and to migrate your legacy PanelView to a PanelView plus 6 or 7. We are also actively working to add upgrades including firmware, a remote I/O scanner and a remote adapter within the next couple of months. For questions about the migration to new QuickServer modules or the migration to the new AN-X4 module, please contact me for more information. Find out more about the new AN-X4 modernization gateway.
