🎇 Neuro Diversity Celebration Week 🎇   Embracing different ways of thinking is key to make the workplace a welcoming and inclusive place to be. It should be a "no-brainer", it should be the most natural thing in the world. We should all be exactly, who we wanna be, love who we want to love, and treat each other with respect and dignity - regardless of our individual differences. We are not quite there yet - unfortunately. There are still "dark spots" on the map, when it comes to diversity and equality. Celebrating Pride is important. Not as "the annual support of diversity". It is important because the best way to push back darkness is with light, laughter, and positivity. All the things that Pride brings. I would like to thank both WiHTL - Diversity in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure & Diversity in Retail for allowing me the privilege to be a panellist alongside Miranda Simms from TUI for today’s webinar for #RaceEqualityWeek where this year’s theme was #ListenActChange. Both Miranda and I were able to share best practice, insights, and key initiatives our respective organisations were doing to tackle racial inequalities in the workplace. 🗣️Key discussions topics included: - the power of employee led networks. - the importance of the creation of safe spaces for colleagues. - endorsing an inclusive culture that provides psychological safety to all. - roles and responsibilities of senior leaders - uncomfortable conversations on race. - the requirement for a clear ED&I strategy and roadmap time lining key deliverables. Thank you to all that joined today’s webinar for your support and kind sentiments. I hope that we were able to provide some useful takeaways and learnings which can be applied to your respective organisations. Amongst the frenzy of last week's travel, I was particularly proud to have been asked to do my very best Deborah Meaden impression (wig optional, and of course other "Dragons" are available 😉 ) at the first ever Stellar Standard Dragons Den style judging panel; hosted by FAIRER Consulting. During the panel, me and my fellow esteemed judges Cherron Inko-Tariah MBE and Bernadette T. gently grilled the co-Chairs of one of the many networks who've applied to be recognised and to achieve the Stellar Standard in 2024. 🏆 👏 👏 👏 The Stellar Standard is the UKs first national benchmarking and accreditation process for Employee Resource Groups and aims to recognise the truly exceptional Staff Networks that are in existence across the UK. Whether they're led by activism, offering employee support and connections, or as critical friends to an organisation's DE&I work, many networks work tirelessly, and often in the background. Achieving the Standard is a way of acknowledging their hard work and achievements, and recognising true excellence. As a long-term champion and supporter of Staff Networks, having worked with and for ERGs for nearly 25 years, it was an absolute pleasure being able to hear about the incredible work being done in the name of creating and maintaining a truly inclusive, respectful and cohesive workplace. Well done to everyone who's put themselves forward this year (and no, you won't get any early indication of who's achieved the Standard from me...my lips are sealed!). 😉 At FAIRER Consulting, we're proud of our partnerships and the opportunity to work together with like-minded organisations to achieve a fairer workplace for everyone. 2024 Global Benchmark Results 🌍 We are happy to announce the release of the 2024 Global Benchmark results, highlighting remarkable achievements in LGBTIQ+ workplace inclusion. Congratulations to the "Advocate" organisations scoring above 90%. This year, there are two new entries into the Advocate level: ING Nederland and McKinsey & Company. They join established Advocate organisations from previous years, including: Accenture the Netherlands, Dow Inc., PwC Nederland, RELX Elsevier, Shell, Sodexo, and Unilever. We also extend our congratulations to the “Ambassador” organisations, which have scored between 70% and 90%. Their unwavering commitment to LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace is driving positive change and fostering a more inclusive society. This year, six new entries have achieved Ambassador status: De Nederlandsche Bank, Johnson & Johnson, Kite Pharma EU B.V., Lenovo, Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, and Nike. They join established Ambassador organisations from previous years, including Aegon Ltd., Avery Dennison, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. 📈 Notably, 26% of submissions were from first-time participants, showing a growing global commitment to inclusive environments.
