Does marijuana affect sleeping or dreams? Some strains of marijuana greatly improve sleeping conditions for a wide variety of individuals. With that in mind, legal medical marijuana can cause patients to experience side-effects that they should be made aware of before beginning use. Sativa strains can make patients have increased anxiety. For some, marijuana can suppress various cycles of Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep which can make dreams hard to recollect, if they are not forgotten entirely. Be sure to talk to your doctor and perhaps do some independent research to be aware side effects. Keep in mind, not a single person has died from the use of marijuana, which is more than can be said for the majority of prescription drugs.

Screening Workers cheating on drug tests hits an all-time ‘high’ US employees are cheating on drug tests at the highest rate in over 30 years, according to Quest Diagnostics. Out of 5.5 million urine samples collected, 6,000 were flagged as substituted, more than a sixfold increase from the previous year, and an additional 25,000 were deemed invalid – up 45% from a year ago. Experts say this surge in drug test deception is likely fueled by the legalization of recreational cannabis use in many states. In some states like New York, where recreational marijuana is now legal, most companies are no longer allowed to test for the drug unless it’s federally mandated. Additionally, as drug laws continue to evolve and methods to deceive tests become more sophisticated, companies are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain drug-free workplaces.

Drug testing, considered a regular part of the hiring process for decades, has suddenly seen a new wrinkle. With 22 states and the District of Columbia legalizing recreational marijuana, 31 states (and D.C.) decriminalizing simple possession of marijuana, and 28 states (and D.C.) legalizing medical marijuana, state laws have become a patchwork of permissibility. And that has made HR leaders' jobs much more difficult. Any form of marijuana impairs functions critical for safe driving. Does not matter if medical or recreational. Current measures of blood or saliva ( breath cannot detect edible marijuana use) only identify what drugs. The biologic measures cannot determine impairment. The concept of marijuana being a gateway drug is a controversial one, but some argue that its use can lead to experimentation with other, potentially more harmful substances. This theory suggests that people who use marijuana may become desensitized to its effects over time and seek stronger or different highs, eventually leading them to try other drugs. Additionally, the social networks and environments in which marijuana is bought and used may also expose users to other substances. However, it's important to note that correlation does not imply causation, and many factors contribute to drug use behaviors. While some people may progress to harder drugs after using marijuana, many others do not.
