As Erin Mote discusses here, there are MANY women working in #AI. They're running AI-related companies, developing new technologies, educating students, and working in a wide variety of business sectors. Some of them are my colleagues at Intel. Check out the list of "Women in AI in Education" shared below. I'm honored to be included in this group of education technology leaders and look forward to learning from the others. #AIforEducation #IntelEdu #IamIntel #AIforALL
Please join me today at 4pm as I join the amazing Danielle McNamara on stage to celebrate the ASU GSV Women in AI - leading women at the forefront of AI and education. How did I end up leading this celebration - it’s because other women - Deborah Quazzo and Claire Zau - saw the need to create space and acknowledgment for women after a December NYTimes piece named the most influential figures key to the AI revolution – and didn’t name a single women. There are literally thousands of women in the AI space who are driving not just innovation but ethical AI for decades - some of who have mentored me as a technologist, a friend, and as a collaborator. Frankly I stand on the shoulders of these giants - who are often hidden figures. It’s this type of bias - overt and in our face - which means women leaders have to step up and create space for each other, who have to say your name and mention your work when you’re not in the room, and who have to use their positional power to offer a hand as they climb the ladder not kick down on the way up. And male leaders need to do it too! So please join me today! Come cheer loudly… be rowdy …claim the space. And today when you might be on panel, in a conversation, or talking with a funder - mention the name of someone other then from your organization/company (bonus points if it is a woman or a person of color) whose work is making impact.

Turning AI Concepts into Business Realities | IIBA Regional Director | Women Techmaker Ambassador | DS4A Fellow
Can you guess how many Latinx classmates I had during my master of management in AI? Sadly Zero :/ But this doesn't mean there's a lack of Latinx talent in this space; it simply means I had to find them elsewhere. So, I reached out to my Women Techmakers community and after connecting with some members, we realized the need for more Latina representation in AI. ✨And that's when the idea of a 12-month series about AI was born! While we'll feature speakers from various backgrounds, most of them are Latinx, ready to showcase the exciting work they're doing in this field. I'll introduce the first 6 sessions with their speakers next week, but in the meantime, you can register using the form below ⬇️ Reach out with any questions and get ready to learn together about AI 💜 #artificialintelligence #professionaldevelopment

My book arrived a couple of days ago and it's been a humbling experience. It is nice that I can talk about AI freely and Black women are included in the conversations. The best bit is that they understand it 😊👌. My book She, DISTRUPS!, is about Black woman’s journey in STEM | AI industries. This book speaks to everyone 😊 #ai #technology #STEM #blackwomenintech #web3community #BeMedigitalinclusion

Happy International Women’s Day! Today we would like to take a moment to reflect on (some of the) the remarkable women who have shaped the trajectory of artificial intelligence throughout history - without them, none of us would be where we are today! Let’s shed light on the groundbreaking achievements of these women but also recognize the countless others who contribute their intellect and passion to this field: 👩💻 Ada Lovelace (1815-1852): as the world's first computer programmer, Ada Lovelace envisioned the potential for machines to manipulate symbols, laying the foundation for the field of artificial intelligence. 🌟 Grace Hopper (1906-1992): as innovator in computer science, Grace Hopper played a pivotal role in the development of programming languages and the creation of the compiler, influencing the landscape of AI. 🚀 Fei-Fei Li: as a leading computer scientist whose work in computer vision and machine learning has propelled the field forward, Fei-Fei Li’s efforts and dedication to advancing technology is shaping the future of AI. 💻 Dr. Joy Buolamwini: as a “poet of code” and a computer scientist, Joy Buolamwini advocates for ethical AI. Her work focuses on bias in facial recognition technology, emphasizing the importance of fairness and accountability in AI systems. 🤖 Cynthia Breazeal: as the founder of Jibo, Cynthia Breazeal’s work is focused on social robotics. Her contributions to the development of social robots highlight the intersection of AI and human interaction. It's essential to recognize and amplify the voices of women in the current AI space who contribute daily to the field's growth and innovation. By creating jamie, we are excited to save incredible women at least 10 hours a week, so that they can use this time for their passion projects, creative pursuits, and really for whatever they want. So, let’s use this day not just to celebrate, but also to advocate for equal opportunities and representation in AI. #internationalwomensday #womeninai #stemwomen #inclusiveai #diversityintech

Connecting the UK's best Engineering talent with market leading Project Management and Design Consultancies, across the Nuclear, Defence and Renewable Energy sectors
Do lazy movie stereotypes put women off science? 'It is hardly surprising to hear that there is a lack of diversity in the portrayal of artificial intelligence researchers in movies. There is too often an assumption in popular culture that a scientist, inventor or programmer is male, nearly always white and, of course, a driven, eccentric genius. It is a deeply damaging and lazy stereotype, and needs to be dispatched to the dustbin of social and creative history'. An interesting opinion, and not just one for Science, but for all STEM subjects. Ladies, it's your platform - Has the portrayal of women (or lack of) in popular culture, influenced your perception of your ability or the pursuit of your career? Share your experiences in the comments. #womeninSTEM #sterotypes #representation
