It’s been a long time coming to hit this milestone, but if you compare the time it took to go from 0 - 200 million downloads and the time it took to go from 500 million to a billion what would you see? A real steep trajectory showing how their success is snowballing.
And that snowball is rolling down a mountain; growth is going to continue exploding and jumping exponentially.
The lesson here? Put in the work. Take the time to build a solid foundation. Talk about what you have to offer - not not what you may have in the future. Stick to the vision and just fucking execute with relentless focus.
And what do you get when you do all that? The best UGC platform for studios of any size, on any platform, using any engine.
There will be case studies written on what mod.io did (and how they did it) in the future. Quote me on that.

Our priority is now on player retention 💜 With the current setup, we aim to maximize playtime, much like our other games 🎮 It's been challenging to predict how a mixed monetization model is going to impact player behavior, so we’re continuously improving and optimizing. This experience reminds us that each game is unique, and we can't always rely on the same strategies, even if they’re tried and tested 💡"

What does it take to launch a successful game in the past 12 months?
Some data, via AppMagic’s ‘Success Meter’ 🪄✨
Defining ‘success’ as $1M+ IAP rev last month, WW…the thirteen (AppMagic) categories with success rates above 1% are driven ENTIRELY by successful Core, Eastern games.
The only two ‘Western’ success stories I could find? Screw Jam (Rollic) and Match Factory (Peak), both out of Turkey.

Its a betting game, betting on NPC battles, where slowly you affect the outcomes and go against other players and their bets.
1-4 players, saves progress between sessions!
Mini development review:
- Feel I am getting better, but lots of verse advance stuff dont fully understand, and they have caused me bugs (f.i. how <transacts> functions work)
- Going from badly written single player to multiplayer was a b*tch, better do that from the beggining in your code base
- Although making Clash Royale was possible, I prefered betting meta as it required less UI work (thats exactly what decisions you make as a single dev)
