@Hey Semrush, what term describes those who go above and beyond in scope of full stack marketer?
No mention of direct response marketing, advertising, strategy or brand - someone's already said 10 jobs in 1 person. You'd struggle to be fully competent in half of what's listed here. Sounds like a jack of all trades type deal to me. Sushi at the local Indian anyone?
When I studied marketing in college, I added a Marketing Manager Certification path that added quite a few more marketing specific courses and pretty much included all of the areas outlined in this post. The program was just referred to as "Integrated Marketing Management" which seemed to me should be the norm in general for any marketing professional, but I do like "Full Stack Marketer" that sounds pretty cool. Although this diagram refers to all of the different activities a "Full Stack Marketer" can do it doesn't express the importance of knowing how to tie those together into a plan, which is what Integrated Marketing Managers are trained to do. Executing a single function of marketing in a silo doesn't make sense to me, that just seems like activities with no connection to a well thought campaign.
Looks like I'm a full stack marketer and I didn't even know it!
Agree 💯. Most small businesses don’t have the resources (financial or HR) to onboard the personnel they probably need. Serving as a competent “jack of all trades” provides incredible value in these particular situations and can go a long way to earning opportunities to take on more clients in the future.
As a marketer, I definitely think you need to have some experience in all of these areas if you want to be successful even in just one of them. They all integrate so closely that even if your current role only focuses on one or two elements, being mindful of what’s going on in the other areas (and not isolating yourself) is going to make your team happy!
That's alotta hats on one head 🤔
Ohh! The new term is introduced by Semrush. Time plz. I have to note it in my dictionary. 😎
