The Seneca Nation held a celebratory PRIDE flag raising on June 3rd to support LBGTAIQ2S+ community members, including those who identify as Two-Spirit. Two-Spirit refers to a person who embodies both masculine and feminine spirits. This term, often embraced by some Indigenous communities, covers various aspects of same-sex attraction, gender identity, and gender variance. It originated in 1990 at the Third Annual Inter-Tribal Native American/First Nations Gay and Lesbian American Conference in Winnipeg, Canada, reflecting unique Indigenous cultural perspectives. This #PRIDEMonth and throughout the year, we honor the contributions of our LGBTQIA2S+ team members and community. Our dedication to recognizing these contributions and our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion remain cornerstones of the culture at Seneca Holdings.

Gratitude to 1046 Sverige and Greg Fernando for extending the invitation to join this meaningful campaign. Embracing diversity is crucial in our increasingly polarized society, making this discourse more pertinent than ever. In a world with two sides to every story, the same holds true for the concept of diversity. Our society is undeniably becoming more diverse and will continue to do so in the future—a reality we cannot afford to ignore. While challenges may arise, addressing them is essential. Simultaneously, we must recognize the untapped potential and opportunities that arise from embracing diversity. Human nature tends to be apprehensive about the unknown and unfamiliar. However, it's crucial to remind ourselves to remain open. By overcoming our fears, we unveil the beauty, opportunities, and stories behind the faces and voices that may seem unknown and unfamiliar. Let's embrace diversity as a source of strength and enrichment, transcending our individual fears for a more inclusive and vibrant society. #Diversity #Inclusion #1046sverige #RSFLUtbildning
How do you start a conversation about inclusion? We love this tip from Karl Yves Vallin from RFSL Utbildning about how we view diversity! “It is crucial to highlight the value of diversity as a strength rather than a threat. Embracing diverse perspectives and fostering open dialogue encourages individuals to share their unique experiences and ideas, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued. This approach cultivates a culture where individuals, regardless of background, can thrive and contribute to the collective success of the community or organization. By actively seeking and appreciating diverse perspectives, you contribute to a more inclusive environment that fosters collaboration and innovation. Encouraging open dialogue from diverse perspectives, and ensuring that everyone feels heard.” Karl Yves Vallin is the Managing Director for RFSL Utbildning AB, a subsidiary of #RFSL (The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Rights) that provides education services to businesses and organizations with the aim of improving the quality of the working environment by promoting diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging in the workplace. This year, we will be bringing you tips from people across Sweden about how to increase inclusion in our country, and this is just the first! Stay tuned for more. #1046Sverige #DiversityAndInclusion #Inkluderingstips #InclusionTips

As we celebrate Pride Month this June, the African Canadian Civic Engagement Council reaffirms its commitment to upholding the dignity and human rights of all people of African descent. We prioritize equity and recognize intersectionality in our support and solidarity efforts, particularly focusing on those within our communities who face compounded challenges and marginalization. Pride Month serves as a time to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ joy in living open, authentic lives, and it's also a time to commemorate the historic and ongoing struggles that make doing so possible. According to Amnesty International, 2SLGBTQIA+ people are under attack globally. Trans Murder Monitoring’s latest update shows that there were approximately 327 deaths recorded in 2022. Ninety-five percent of those murdered were trans women, and amongst this number, the majority of the victims were either Black, racialised, or migrant trans women. These alarming statistics underscore the urgent need for action to address the pervasive violence and discrimination faced by Black queer and trans individuals, who are particularly vulnerable within both 2SLGBTQIA+ and Black communities. In commemorating Pride Month, we must center our efforts on amplifying the voices and experiences of Black queer and trans individuals, standing in solidarity against all forms of oppression. We as allies must actively combat discrimination and advocate for inclusive policies and practices that uplift and protect the rights and dignity of every member of our community. Pride Month serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and justice for all. Let us use this moment to recommit ourselves to the principles of allyship, solidarity, and inclusivity, ensuring that every person, regardless of their race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation, can live free from fear and discrimination. #Pride2024 #PrideMonth2024 #2SLGBTQIA+ #LGBT #BlackPride #HumanRights #BlackTransRights #pridemonth #gay #pride #lgbtqia #loveislove

Firmly devoted to fostering an environment that embraces diversity and individuality, UNFCU's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) journey is both inspiring and profoundly impactful. Senior leadership engagement with DEIB initiatives resounds throughout the organization, fostering a culture of acceptance and appreciation from top to bottom. This alignment serves as the bedrock for a thriving DEIB strategy. The organization's dynamic Business Resource Groups (BRGs) – including African American/Black, LGBTQ, Multicultural, and Women – catalyze cultural transformation. These BRGs governed by DEIB Champions lead courageous dialogues and events, nurturing secure spaces for employees to engage in meaningful discussions and notable progress. As UNFCU continues its DEIB journey, it embraces diversity as strength, inclusion as a deliberate choice, equity as essential, and belonging as an eternal legacy. For potential employees aspiring to join a workplace rooted in unity and excellence, UNFCU presents a job and an opportunity to participate in a transformative movement. For employees, UNFCU is a place to call home because everyone belongs and is valued for individuality. #unfcu #unfculife #unfcupeople #unfcuculture #creditunions #cudifference #peaceofmind #serviceexcellence #greatplacetowork #DEIB #diversity #equity #inclusion #belonging

Organizational leader/Coaching/Speaking/Designing/Delivering people, culture & leadership initiatives
some truth speak, as a practitioner in the deijb - aka diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging space- if we talk about inclusion void of offering an analysis and critique of a rcaialised, class and gender biased society- it may very well be an inclusion that is highlighted problematic toward people who don't fit, and don’t come from the status quo. be careful of ideology, toward so called equality and inclusion that is void of equity and justice. #justsaying

June 1st is the start of Pride Month For me, what is Pride? What does it stand for? 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 P People R Respecting I Inclusion D Diversity E Equality 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 It shouldn't be a month. It needs to be 24/7 365 days a year. The LGBTQI + community (Diversity) continues to suffer from discrimination, hate and exclusion from society. In some countries, to identify as LGBTQI can lead to the death penalty. It is crucial, that we use Pride to promote awareness and recognition of LGBTQI people, and what they can give to society. Stop the pink washing. Be an active Ally, and empower yourselves to shout out against hate and discrimination to this community. #pride #Equality #diversity #Inclusion #Allyship
