Happy Independence Day! Almost 250 years ago, a radical and revolutionary idea took hold - that all men were created equal and endowed by their creator with the inalienable right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights Governments were instituted by men, deriving their just powers by the consent of the governed. Our founders, recognizing the challenges and fallibility of humans during their time and in the future, laid out an aspirational dream toward a more perfect Union. With our recent divisions, political polarization, and tribalism, today is a good day to reconnect with the aspirations of our founders. Check out our founding documents. https://lnkd.in/eSpKfWjb.

Happy 4th of July! As we celebrate the birth of our great nation and the freedoms we hold dear, let's reflect on the ideals that the United States of America was created to embody. The freedom to choose one’s own path and destiny, to dream, innovate, and build; the idea that no matter who you are, or where you are from, you have the right to dream, act on those dreams and achieve your dreams. It is not a guaranty of success, but a guaranty of opportunity, the opportunity to apply yourself, work hard and live a better life. Our forefathers came to America from other parts of the world to create and live a different life; not be told they had to believe certain beliefs or live a particular lifestyle. The idea that we treat everyone fairly and with the same rights they enjoyed. They fought for this independence, the right to dream and choose to believe, the right to work hard, take risks, overcome challenges, and realize their visions. America is about many different backgrounds, traditions, ways of thought and belief. It is about honoring and respecting the rights of others, even when we don’t agree with what they think. We can and should, disagree; find the middle ground, compromise. It is this principal of acceptance, compromise and working together that have taken our country from its humble beginnings as colonies, to the forefront of the world and place that people continue to want to migrate to and partake in the “Great American Experiment”. This idea is not an end, as much as it is a journey – a journey of evolution, experiment and collective achievement. Here's to freedom, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of our dreams. Happy Independence Day! #UnitedStatesofAmerica #USA #togetherweachieve #IndependenceDay #4thofJuly

Celebrating 78th Independence Day – A Moment for Reflection Today, as we celebrate our 78th Independence Day, I truly feel blessed to honor the freedom we've inherited. But is this celebration just a ritual, or have we truly imbibed the values and struggles that made it possible? This brings us to the concept of a #moralcompass. Often discussed in professional settings, the moral compass is not just for the workplace; it's essential in our daily lives. It guides us in making the right choices, even when no one is watching. Since childhood, we've been taught to "do the right thing" no matter the circumstances. But are we really living by this principle? Whether it’s as simple as following traffic rules or as complex as leading a team with integrity, our actions reflect our true values. So, on this Independence Day, I invite you to #reflect: - Are we just celebrating freedom, or are we also living the values that uphold it? - How strong is our moral compass in both our personal and professional life? A question to ponder… #IndependenceDay #MoralCompass #Values #Leadership #SelfReflection

Some interesting facts about St. Patrick’s Day: St. Patrick’s Origin: Despite being the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick was actually born in Britain. He was captured into slavery and taken to Ireland, where he later returned as a Christian missionary. No Snakes in Ireland: The story of St. Patrick driving snakes out of Ireland is a myth. In reality, Ireland has never had any native snake species to begin with. Leprechauns and Fairies: The leprechaun, often associated with St. Patrick’s Day, is derived from Celtic folklore. These ‘small-bodied fellows’ were believed to be fairies and were known for their shoemaking skills. “The Luck of the Irish” is a phrase that originally emerged in America during the gold and silver rush eras, when Irish miners were often successful in their endeavors. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not an old Irish saying but an American one, and it was initially used in a somewhat derogatory way to attribute the Irish miners’ successes to luck rather than their hard work. Over time, the phrase has taken on a more positive connotation, celebrating the Irish for their perceived good fortune and resilience, especially in the face of adversity. Today, it’s commonly used to express good luck and is often associated with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

On July 4th we celebrate the courage of those men and women who embraced the idea of freedom and indepedence and sacrificed much to earn it. It took over seven years from the time the Declaration of Independence was signed until the day the British surrendered, but those in the halls of Congress, and those who rallied behind such a powerful ideal didn't know how long the task would last. Today we are honored and inspired by those same "self- evident" truths to continue building a more perfect Union, no matter how long the task will take. “I believe I can, and therefore, I can.” This is the core belief, the particular optimism rooted deeply in the American Dream that sets this country apart from the rest of the world. It is this belief that allows people here to create and build and thrive in ways that they might not anywhere else, even when they’ve started with nothing. … the triumph of optimism swelled in my core. I let every bit of that feeling stitch the torn fabric of my heart and fill up the loss of leaving my country behind. I would have to wait two more years to become eligible to take the test and get sworn in as an American citizen. But on that day? The day I learned just how powerful optimism can be? That’s when I became an American. — The above is an excerpt from my book, Crossing the Desert. From a time when I knew I was ready to make my way forward in this country, purposefully. As we commemorate another Independence Day, I am reminded of the enduring ideals upon which this nation was founded. For me, this day holds a special resonance, not only as a celebration of freedom and independence but also as a reflection of the boundless potential that America represents. Throughout its history, America has stood as a beacon of hope and acceptance, offering sanctuary to the oppressed and disadvantaged from around the world. It is a privilege for any nation to have such an opportunity to shape the course of human history, and I believe that America’s spiritual destiny lies in leading the charge toward a more harmonious and just world. May this day be a joyful celebration of the resilience and spirit of the American people, and may we continue to strive toward a brighter future for all humanity. Happy Independence Day. https://lnkd.in/gURApezS #independenceday #4thofjuly #spiritualdestiny #crossingthedesert #spiritialcapitalism

𝓦𝓮𝓵𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓪 𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓵𝓭 𝓸𝓯 𝓘𝓷𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓘𝓷𝓼𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽! In my downtime, I had the joy of visiting the iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial. This amazing site features the carved faces of four legendary U.S. Presidents, each symbolising key aspects of America's journey. 1. 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 (#1): The first president, Washington is the embodiment of leadership and resilience. He laid the foundation for the United States, much like how foundational knowledge sets the stage for future innovations in education.😉 2. 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 (#3): As the primary author of the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson's vision for liberty and education paved the way for a society that values lifelong learning and intellectual freedom. Imagine if he could see today's educational opportunities where knowledge is accessible to everyone. 3. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐭 (#26): Known for his energetic leadership and progressive policies, Roosevelt was a trailblazer in conservation and social reform. 4. 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐧 (#16): Lincoln's legacy of unity and equality continues to inspire. His determination to abolish slavery and promote human rights is akin to our ongoing efforts to use education as a means to bridge societal gaps and promote inclusivity. These four presidents not only shaped the nation but also set the stage for the innovative spirit that drives us today. Just as Mount Rushmore stands tall and enduring, so do the principles these leaders represent in our quest for knowledge and educational advancement.
