A common theme that comes up for #educators in busy classrooms is not enough time to get to know large numbers of student’s passions and interests. Loved seeing Laura Callender share how High School students journal! 📝 #reflection is a great place to begin and reinforces neural pathways for self- regulation among numerous benefits! One reason I left the classroom was an administrator who “didn’t want to see my students write in journals.” Journaling is excellent for learning for so many reasons! #StressTolerance 😃 Writing about your thoughts and feelings in a journal can help reduce stress levels. This can lead to a decrease in the production of the stress hormone cortisol, which in turn can have a positive impact on your brain health. #ImprovedEQ🧠 Journaling allows you to express your emotions and thoughts, which can help improve your mood and awareness of fleeting emotions. This emotional release can lead to a greater sense of well-being and happiness. #Integration 👩🏻🏫 Regularly journaling can improve your memory and comprehension skills. The act of writing things down helps reinforce information in your brain, making it easier to remember and understand. #Creativity 💡 Journaling can stimulate your creativity by encouraging you to think outside the box and explore new ideas. This can help activate different parts of your brain and enhance your problem-solving skills. #SelfRegulation 🧘🏾♀️ a journal can help you process and regulate your emotions more effectively. This can lead to improved emotional intelligence and better coping mechanisms for dealing with stress and challenges.
🌟 Celebrating #Educators, like Laura Callender, who skillfully integrate educational neuroscience into classroom practice! 🧠 Through journaling, Laura cultivates a space where students connect socially and introspectively, fostering deeper self-awareness and belonging. #NeuralEd #NeuralEducation #RaftingUp #KnowBetterDoBetter

Did you know Dyslexia affects up to 3 children in every classroom? 🧒📚 Learning to read is one of the first skills children are taught when they start school, and every child learns differently. If you notice your child or student having persistent difficulties with reading an they're falling behind their peers, they may be showing signs of Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a neurobiological condition that affects the part of the brain that processes language. It causes difficulties with identifying letters and their relationship to spoken sounds, which leads to slow reading and poor accuracy. If you're a teacher and want to learn more about Dyslexia, visit our website or join our webinar on Wednesday 8 May: https://ow.ly/j0wX50ReHGk #Dyslexia #DyslexiaAwareness #LearningDifficulties

Reasoning, problem solving, and innovation are all necessary competencies for life success. Early adolescence is an optimal time to enhance learning. Our Adolescent Reasoning Initiative program enables middle school through ninth grade teachers to take advantage of the adolescent brain development stage and optimize student learning for success in the classroom and beyond. Our research with Children who received SMART™ brain training in the classroom shows: — 95% of participating schools have shown measurable increases in higher-order cognition among students — Students in some schools performed 30% better on STAAR standardized tests across all subjects after program — In an early study, 86% of the students who participated in the program were graduating on time, compared to the district average of 45% — In a study currently submitted and undergoing peer review, students were found to have a 25% reduction in symptoms of anxiety We have been partnering with schools for more than 15 years to provide tools that have been scientifically shown to enrich and strengthen the learning potential of students. Every student deserves the opportunity to receive cognitive empowerment through neuroscience-based solutions. We're exploring how neurofeedback is revolutionizing education. This thread will delve into its impact on learning and cognitive development Neurofeedback's first benefit in education is enhanced focus. By training the brain, students can better concentrate, leading to improved learning outcomes. For students with learning difficulties, neurofeedback offers hope. Tailored brain exercises help in managing ADHD and other learning disorders, making education more inclusive A key advantage of neurofeedback is improved memory retention. Students show better recall and academic performance, making studying more effective. Stress, especially during exams, can hinder learning. Neurofeedback teaches students to manage stress, promoting a calm and focused mindset. Real-world impact: Schools implementing neurofeedback see positive changes. Improved attention, reduced anxiety, and better academic performance are just some benefits. Neurofeedback also fosters social and emotional learning. Students develop better emotional regulation and social skills, crucial for holistic education. Concluding our thread: Neurofeedback is a game-changer in education. It's not just about better grades but about nurturing well-rounded, mentally healthy students. Discover more at newmind.tech. #FutureOfEducation #Neurofeedback
