I’ve spoken to 100+ health-tech entrepreneurs in the last 6 months. And they are ALL struggling to raise funds and scale.
Unlike most industries, health-tech innovators usually don’t have a business background.
They come from clinical backgrounds, including researchers and scientists. They all had innovative ideas for solving real problems, creating a societal impact.
Some have obtained grant funding and are now seeking Pre-Seed investments, while others received Seed funding from VCs back in 2021 and are now aiming for Series A.
While their expertise is clear, 99% of them lack awareness of the market complexities in the health-tech space.
Here are some key factors holding them back:
1. Navigating a regulated market:
Health tech is heavily regulated, with compliance varying by product class. You must understand which regulations apply (MDR, FDA, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) depending on the market you're entering.
2. Understanding who’s paying for it:
Knowing who will pay for your product is critical. Is it hospitals, clinics, or patients?
Many assume insurance will cover their product automatically, but even with a reimbursement code, you’ll need a doctor’s prescription to get paid.
3. Selling to hospitals is complex:
You have to convince multiple stakeholders with different value propositions, and each needs to be on board for the sale to happen.
4. Managing funding is a hassle:
Building a regulated product while bootstrapped is nearly impossible. Most startups either have public grants or have raised money from friends and family.
Now that the funds are running out, they are struggling to raise money from VCs. Every VC says the same thing — "Show me market traction."
It’s a chicken and egg story. For VCs to invest, they need market traction. Without regulation (which often requires millions of dollars), the startup cannot commercialise the product.
To help with all of these problems, I’ve developed a checklist to help early-stage health-tech startups succeed.
So if you're looking to raise $3-5M in seed funding within 3-6 months, just:

And I’ll share it directly in your DMs.
