How Resimac SA Protects Global Marine Trade. Over 90% of Goods Rely on Maritime Transport — How Resimac SA Protects Global Marine Trade. Did you know that more than 90% of the goods we consume, from clothing and food to essential resources like oil and gas, rely on maritime transport? The global economy depends on thousands of ships navigating the world’s oceans, enduring harsh environmental conditions like saltwater corrosion and extreme weather. Protecting these vessels from damage is critical to ensure smooth global trade operations. Without their continuous operation, supply chains would face severe disruptions, affecting almost every aspect of daily life. The Marine Industry’s Toughest Challenges: Operating in the marine industry presents numerous challenges. Vessels and marine structures are constantly exposed to damaging elements, such as saltwater, UV radiation, and extreme temperatures. These conditions threaten the performance and safety of ships, driving up maintenance costs and downtime. For companies that drive global trade, minimizing vessel downtime and extending their lifespan is essential. That’s where Resimac SA comes in. https://lnkd.in/d8BeJFb9

It's an honor to be invited to provide some perspective regarding the business of the maritime industry. The challenges faced by logistics managers once again illustrates the importance of our maritime chokepoints to global supply chains. Understanding the complexities of maritime business allows logistics managers to adjust schedules. Although sailing around the Cape causes a delay in ship schedules, at least the ships (and cargo) will arrive with more reliability, a key principle in logistics. The next challenge will come from our ports to ensure cargo continues to flow efficiently and effectively. I have great faith that our ports and terminals are up for that challenge particularly from those ports that support professional development of their staff from training programs such as the #IAMPE (International Association of Maritime Port Executives), involvement with industry associations such as #IANA, #CII, and of course, certificate and degree programs provided by the world-class programs through the #HaslamCollegeofBusiness, Supply Chain Department.
