Expiratory Flow Limitation, or EFL, is closely associated with hyperinflation and air trapping, particularly patients with COPD. Poor expiratory flow can also impact a patient's ability to clear their own secretions. In this study of COPD patients, almost all saw improvement in their EFL scores when treated with IPV therapy.
