📢 Cervical Cancer in India: A Preventable Tragedy Cervical cancer remains a significant public health issue in India, accounting for nearly one-fourth of global cervical cancer deaths. Despite being largely preventable, it ranks as the second most common cancer among Indian women, with over 75,000 deaths annually. The primary cause is the human papillomavirus (HPV), specifically types 16 and 18, which contribute to 83% of cervical cancers in the country. However, there's hope. The recent introduction of CERVAVAC, India's first indigenously developed HPV vaccine, marks a breakthrough in preventing cervical cancer. This affordable vaccine is a major step toward reducing the burden of the disease and is part of a broader National Cancer Control Programme aimed at expanding screening, treatment, and vaccination services. HPV vaccines given at the right age can almost completely prevent the development of cervical cancer. The government's goal is to create 100 cervical cancer-free districts through coordinated efforts in vaccination, early screening, and pre-cancer treatments. Partnerships between public health organizations and private entities are crucial to ensure affordable and accessible solutions for all women in🇮🇳 🔑 Key Takeaways: HPV vaccination is a powerful tool in preventing cervical cancer. Cervical cancer screening and early treatment are essential for reducing mortality. Greater awareness and access to healthcare can lead to a cervical cancer-free India. #Healthcare #CervicalCancer #HPV #Vaccine #India

Turbo cancer... the only turbo was the speed at which this was dismissed as a conspiracy theory, and debunked. Still.. someone is pushing this again. And trying to push ivermectin as the for-all solution... Pure heresy... A 143,233% Surge in Fatal Cancer Cases Linked to COVID Vaccinations would means that all vaccines would die of cancer. Well, they all die for such, old age, CV disease and cancers, yes, but no turbo cancers for such. A rise in screenable cancers shows that screening for such was not done during COVID... To try to relate a rise between 1990 and 2019, of cases of cancer in young people across the globe 79 percent and deaths by 28 percent, while interesting, precedes the COVID pandemic BTW. Also the ridiculous claim of exposure to a possible carcinogen…hmmmm…like the one that suppresses the p53 protein which in turn is responsible for suppressing cancer, causes systemic inflammation, is intentionally contaminated with the highly carcinogenic simian virus 40 (SV40), and integrates into the human genome? What could that possibly be? Maybe it really is “climate change” after all?.
Global cancer phenomenon: It's not just America... the UK, Japan, South Africa and Australia are among dozens of countries suffering mystery spikes of all different kinds of tumors in young people

MIRROR REFLECTION: The Power of Restoring Th1/Th2 Balance AlloStim® is a groundbreaking immunotherapy designed to empower your immune system to do what it does best—protect against cancers and infectious diseases. The immune system has two polarized components, normally maintained in a carefully regulated balance. On one pole are Th1 cells which mediate cellular immunity and help to protect against cancers and viruses; and, on the other pole are Th2 cells which mediate humoral (antibody) immunity and help to neutralize parasites and pathogens that reside outside of cells. A shift of Th1/Th2 cell subsets toward Th2 dominance occurs in malignant tumors. The same type of shift towards Th2 biased responses occurs in the elderly, making the elderly more susceptible to cancer and viral diseases. Many cancers and viruses actually promote a "Th2-dominant" environment in order to avoid immune elimination. AlloStim® is designed to correct Th1/Th2 imbalances by increasing Th1 cell titers in circulation, which works to restore cell mediated immunity in both cancer patients and the elderly. AlloStim® thus changes the game, by broadly restoring immune surveillance and promoting cellular immune attacks on cancer and viral infected cells. Both cancer patients and the elderly have an imbalance in Th1/Th2 ratios with a loss of Th1 cellular immune function. The ability of AlloStim® to correct Th1/Th2 imbalance by increasing Th1 cell titers is the reason the same experimental drug is in clinical development both in late stage metastatic cancer patients and healthy elderly adults. We’re excited to be pushing the boundaries of what immunotherapy can do to restore the power of the immune system to protect against and eliminate disease. #immunotherapy

“Our goal is to team up and end cancer around the world, starting with cervical cancer. We have the prevention and screening tools and treatments to make it the first cancer to be eliminated.” – President Joe Biden, announcing the Quad Cancer Moonshot. Sabin Vaccine Institute and the #GlobalHPVConsortium were recognized among the leading organizations aiming to #endcervicalcancer as the first focus of the Quad Cancer Moonshot announced jointly this weekend by Biden, Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan. As President Biden noted, despite having #HPVprevention and #cervicalcancer screening and treatments tools that can make this the first cancer to be eliminated, only 1 in 10 women in the Indo-Pacific region have received the HPV vaccination. The Consortium’s involvement includes the Cervical Cancer Elimination Consortium in India's efforts to make 100 districts cancer-free, working on cervical cancer elimination in countries such as Indonesia, and building continued momentum in the political will and community education that will be essential to success. It was gratifying to see the Consortium's holistic approach echoed by Quad country leaders in their statements. Since it began a year ago, the Consortium has pushed to unify the previously siloed pillars of cervical cancer elimination — prevention, screening, and early treatment. The SAVE strategy in India, supported by the Consortium, reflects this integrated model, prioritizing screening, treatment access, vaccination, and education. In August 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) adopted a global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer in our lifetime. “To eliminate cervical cancer,” according to the WHO, “all countries must reach and maintain an incidence rate of below 4 per 100,000 women.” To reach this goal, the WHO set three targets: Vaccination: 90% of girls fully vaccinated with the HPV vaccine by the age of 15. Screening: 70% of women screened using a high-performance test by the age of 35, and again by the age of 45. Treatment: 90% of women with pre-cancer treated and 90% of women with invasive cancer managed. The deadline to reach these goals is 2030, which is a north star for many in women’s health and oncology. #BiotechDiaries – Cervical Cancer – The 2nd Most Common Cancer in Indian Women Although preventable by administering HPV vaccination, cervical cancer is the 4th most common cancer globally and the 2nd most common cancer in India, almost 18% of the new cancer cases. In 2020, 604,000 new cases are estimated to have emerged, while 342,000 deaths took place, 90% of which were in low- and middle-income countries. Lack of equitable access to HPV vaccines, cervical cancer screening, and healthcare services has led to this unfortunate situation. In India, the government is ramping up its immunisation efforts against cervical cancer. Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman declared in her interim Budget 2024 speech that the government intends to promote HPV vaccination for girls aged 9 to 14 as a preventive measure against cervical cancer. #covid #cancer #predisposition #poorprognosis #underlyingconditions 🛑 Vaccinated patients with active cancers have an increased risk of in-hospital death. 🛑 https://lnkd.in/gBaf2_xw, This study is the first to suggest an association between severe SARS-CoV-2 infection and cancer diagnosis in the following months, suggesting that a severe SARS-CoV-2 infection may represent a marker of undiagnosed cancer. More research is needed to determine the nature of the relationship between an underlying cancer and a severe SARS-CoV-2 infection. Based on this future research, it would be necessary to discuss whether more targeted screening should be offered or not to this population of individuals. 🛑 On an international level, numerous studies demonstrated that cancer patients are at higher risk of severe outcome when infected with SARS-CoV-2. For example, an English study (OpenSAFELY database, including more than 17 million individuals) showed that hematological cancer patients were up to 2.5 times more likely to die from a SARS-CoV-2 infection. 🛑 Greater fragility to SARS-CoV-2 in cancer patients as a result of six main elements: older age, increased expression of the ACE2 receptor, increased expression of the TMPRSS2 protease, underlying immunosuppression (due to cancer and/or anti-cancer treatments), significant inflammatory response and cancer-induced pro-coagulant state. 🛑 No study has yet investigated if a severe SARS-CoV-2 infection represents a marker of an undiagnosed cancer. 🛑 This population-based study, using the SNDS database, identified from 02/15/2020 to 08/31/2021, 41,302 individuals hospitalized in intensive care unit due to SARS-CoV-2 (ICU-gr) and 713,670 control individuals not hospitalized for SARS-CoV-2 (C-gr). Individuals were matched according to year of birth, sex and French department. The cancer incidence was compared in the two groups during the follow-up period (index date-12/31/2021), using Cox proportional hazards models adjusted on matching variables, socioeconomic characteristics and comorbidities. In the ICU-gr, 2.2% (n = 897) was diagnosed with a cancer in the following months, compared to 1.5% (n = 10,944) in the C-gr. 🛑 The ICU-gr had a 1.31 higher risk of being diagnosed with a cancer following hospital discharge compared to the C-gr (aHR 1.31, 95% CI 1.22–1.41). 🛑 A global similar trend was found when competing risk of death was taken into account (aHR 1.25, 95% CI 1.16–1.34). 🛑 A significant higher risk was found concerning renal (aHR 3.16, 95% CI 2.33–4.27), hematological (aHR 2.54, 95% CI 2.07–3.12), colon (aHR 1.72, 95% CI 1.34–2.21), and lung (aHR 1.70, 95% CI 1.39–2.08) cancers. This suggests that a severe SARS-CoV-2 infection may represent a marker of an undiagnosed cancer.

This past week, I SPAM'ed my other socials with an "immune system, cancer and science" 5 day course. You never know who might want this info, so let's post here too. Apologies up front 😉 DAY 1 As promised (or maybe threatened), here is day 1 of what I'm calling "The immune system, cancer, treatments & my clinical trial for fun and profit"... of which the info will hopefully be accurate . Let's start with how your body *should* deal with cancer “Cancerous” cells are probably not that rare in your body. And it’s your T cells (one of your immune system cell types) that wander around and kill them before they ever become a problem. Yay! But how does a T cell know that a cell has become cancerous or has a virus inside? T cells float next to “bad cells”, but all the nasty stuffs (proteins that indicate a cell has gone rogue) are hiding safely & invisibly within that strong cell wall. What gives? A cool trick: nearly every cell in your body “advertises” some of what’s inside by dangling bits of this outside the cell wall via something called an MHC. The important bit to know is this: cells “dangle” both their clean & dirty laundry for the whole world to see. Thanks to this, Killer T cells wander around, see the dirty laundry and kill the cell . We’ll save HOW T cells know that a certain piece of laundry is dirty (e.g. from a virus or cancer) vs clean for some future episode! Then how does this system fail & allow cancer to develop? Cells, like us, *enjoy* surviving (the nerve!). *Very* occasionally, a cell will get a mutation where the laundry stops being “dangled” or is dangled less, or maybe Febreze is sprayed first to hide the smell! NOW we have a problem: our cancerous cell is no longer advertising its “rotten insides” to the outside world. Our powerful T cells float right by. This is called immune-escape. Boo! So if that's how our immune system gets tricked. Tomorrow we'll start looking at how we reactivate it through treatments like CAR T & cancer vaccines. Science!
