How is open enrollment going at your Company? If you are responsible for Health & Welfare benefits, you may think your job is (almost) done. But, don't forget that a person with authority at your Company needs to officially adopt all of the changes you are making in order for those changes to be valid. There are a few ways to do this- amending your plan document and/or your summary plan description, drafting a summary of material modifications, or simply creating a resolution that the individual with authority can sign, indicating that all changes described in open enrollment materials have been adopted. The announced rates are as follows: •$5.36 per hour (increased from $4.98) •$4.93 per hour for EO 13706 (increased from $4.57) •$2.36 per hour for Hawaii Prepaid Healthcare Act (HPHCA) employees •$1.93 per hour for Hawaii Prepaid Healthcare Act (HPHCA) employees performing EO 13706 contracts.
