Studies revealed that more women are doing more volunteer work, leading diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B) efforts and increasing employee engagement and retention, but this is not formally acknowledged or rewarded. Bias around doesn't make it easier: the challenge of influencing a group and driving successful outcomes may be overlooked when you are volunteering for your ERG, community events, SWE affiliates, or affinity groups. The fact is that these experiences are valuable for leadership capability growth and skill development. In this session, we will give you tools and techniques to intentionally uncover leadership opportunities, gain recognition for the value of this work, and push boundaries to truly develop your skills without limits.
