Gradually the Indian subcontinent is realising the fact that the development of military space assets is necessary to provide momentum to both the commercial ecosystem and international collaborations. As China remains the prime manufacturer and supplier in PakSAT-MM1R mission, it would be interesting to see how it can help scale a pathway for Chinese startups to grab more such international opportunities.

Wow, just saw this one this morning and found it disturbing on so many levels. First, it represents inaugural attempts to commercialize flights to the moon for reasons beyond science and research. Second, this commercialization involves human burials on the moon. That is correct, you heard correctedly, private companies are facilitating the moon launches with human remains and dna destined for burial on the moon. My initial reaction was to consider the old funeral home trope where they try to upsell you to a more expensive casket and plot: "What more tranquil setting could your love ones deserve than the quietude of the moon with a last resting view of the earth?" Well hell, you cannot get a more ludicrous example of that slimy practice now applied to the moon...we are talking about the moon here folks! Of course the Navajo Nation find this launch and burial process deeply disturbing and disrespectful - we all should. The moon should be seen as sacred to all of us not just another example of new resource extraction nor the newest, coolest most expensive cemetery. And, even as I write today I heard that Norway has greenlit their program to harvest deep sea minerals et al claiming it is part of the best way forward out of our fossil economy. I think it be more like another process in making the earth the final resting place for us as fossils. But wait, earthly human extinction is so last millennia, now we can send all our ashes to the moon for a price. Once again, whether greedy capital looks up or down, we show an incredible propensity for short sightedness and disrespect, both for the earth, and now the moon.
No one seems to be listening to the Navajo Nation's objection to the human remains of 70 people aboard the Peregrine launch on 8 January and being left on the Moon.
