Wishing all my LinkedIn connections a Happy New Year. 🍾  Looking back at 2023 it was another busy year heading up new location workplace projects & programmes in many countries. Starting the year in Italy, Malta, Portugal and then later in the year up to Denmark, 🎉 Sweden, Norway & Finland. This summer has been intense in terms of traveling for me, and it's been absolutely amazing! ✈ In June, I visited Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 with my sister. The trip was full of beautiful landscapes and unforgettable moments. 💃 In July, I headed to Barcelona 🇪🇸 to visit Semrush’s office and meet my colleagues face-to-face. 🏡 And in August I’m traveling to visit my parents. The highlight of my summer was the three weeks I spent in Montenegro 🚞 Our seaside home turned into a co-working space, and I had the pleasure of sharing it with Mateja Stojanovic, Filip Stojanović, Jacques Lombard, Bea Labuschagne, and Dylan Lubbe. We were immersed in Botswana and South African culture combined with Serbian culture, made braai (bbq), played board games (I even tried Twilight Imperium 🥵), swam a lot, and truly enjoyed our time by the seaside. This incredible summer wouldn't have been possible without the flexibility of remote work: 📍 Cultural Immersion: Working remotely from different places lets you dive into new cultures; 📍Work-Life Balance: The flexibility lets you create a balance that works for you, whether it's a midday swim or exploring a new city after work; 📍Enhanced Productivity: A change of scenery can spark creativity and boost productivity. 📍Personal Growth: Traveling while working remotely challenges you to adapt and broadens your horizons. Today marks six years to the day I boarded a one-way flight to Buenos Aires for a new job opportunity. ✈️📍🇦🇷 What started as a career move that would allow me to live and immerse myself in Latin America, evolved into a transformative journey beyond what I could have ever imagined. Here’s a recap of some major events since I took the leap with that one-way ticket: •Started a new role in a foreign country, navigating cross-cultural office dynamics and a highly technical role while settling into a new culture and way of life…alone. 😅 •Navigated learning a new language and culture, ultimately growing into deeper fluency and integration. •Took a leap from in-office work (without a plan), and navigated extreme uncertainty with perseverance to secure fully remote work before it became a global reality. 💻 •Was inspired to pursue a coaching certification from my career and personal growth journey, which eventually led to the creation of my own business. •Followed my dream of exploring countries in Latin America, worked remotely in new destinations, and fully embraced a slow travel, remote lifestyle. 🌎 •Discovered a passion for Latin dances, deeper cultural immersion, and deep connection. 💃🏽 •Launched events to build deeper community and connection amongst locals and foreigners here in Buenos Aires. 🇦🇷 The depth of transformation I’ve experienced since moving abroad six years ago is almost impossible to put into words. It’s taught me invaluable lessons about adaptability, resilience, and the power of embracing change. I’ve learned to deeply value cultural connection and immersion, which has also deepened my spiritual journey. To give back to the places abroad that have transformed my life, and I’ve been lucky enough to call home.  It's fueled my passion to help others experience this transformation. As I reflect on this journey, my advice is and always will be: When you listen to and follow the pull of your intuition, you will never regret it. What I learned after 2 weeks of being a digital nomad in Montenegro: The Balkans have long been a hub for digital nomads - and who can blame them? 5 things that I've observed during my first two weeks nomading across Montenegro: 1. Time zone is a game-changer Working in a timezone that suits your clients is key. CEST works best for me since I have clients in India, the US, UAE, and Europe. 2. Smart scheduling I wake up at 7, wrap my work up for my Indian and Middle Eastern clients by 10, head to the beach at 11, get back at 4 for my US and European clients. 3. Setting up a routine  Scheduling tasks based on energy, not time can make a big difference. I found that waking up early, doing high-energy tasks first, and then winding down with less strenuous tasks was very effective. 4. Connecting with the locals Balkans are the friendliest people I've met. The locals speak English. I often end up spending hours with a random boutique owner or a barista while I'm out for a stroll. 5. Best beaches ever! Montenegro's shores are not as hot and humid as Bali's, and they're less crowded because it's still shoulder season! What's the best place you've traveled to?
