The news that left me with strong emotions 👇🏻 Back in 2022, during the peak of NFT development, the masterpiece "Der Kuss" by Gustav Klimt was tokenized. According to the Vienna Belvedere, as of today, more than 2,600 tokenized fragments of the painting have been sold, with over 7,000 tokens still available. The total sales value of NFT fragments is approximately €4.4 million. With extensive experience in the NFT space, I tend to believe that the NFT format is specific and truly suitable only for digital works and digital art (if we talk about art). As for masterpieces created on canvas, duplicating them as NFTs without owning the rights to the original masterpiece seems like a futile expenditure. Any masterpiece on canvas represents your investment and contribution to history. However, what a "transformed" masterpiece in the NFT format entails is not entirely clear at the moment. What are your thoughts on this matter?

Many articles about "NFT art" being "dead". If one can agree there's a plunge in volumes and falling prices for 95% of the market, it's good to see how the "traditional art market" is performing. And according to the latest Sotheby's results, it seems the whole art market is suffering right now. As per the article in the FT (link in first commentary), "Sotheby’s earnings plunge as art market catches a chill" and "Arch-rival Christie’s also suffering from slowdown in auctions" with sales of both auction houses declining by 25% and 22%, respectively, in H1 2024. The question being: when will the tradart market bounce back? And will the digital art market also bounce back. 👀
