Importance of the HPV Vaccine! Dr. Pavana Prakash, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist, emphasizes the importance of the HPV vaccine in preventing serious conditions like genital warts and cervical cancer. HPV, a sexually transmitted infection, affects 80% of unvaccinated adults. Persistent HPV can lead to various cancers in both men and women. Vaccination is recommended between ages 9-24, with different dosing schedules for those over and under 15. Regular tests like PAP smears and HPV blood tests are essential before and after vaccination to ensure long-term protection. Hii all, Today, I attended a webinar on HPV and its vaccine. 💫HPV is Human Pappiloma Virus that can cause genital warts and at higher stages can result into cervical cancer.More common in females. 💫The significance of knowledge of this lies in the fact that when females with warts conceive a child it can be transmitted to child through placental cells. 💫And though it is a serious concern, Indian population generally lack knowledge and are generally shy to get vaccinated for the same. Hence through this post of mine , I am trying to spread awareness. 👉Dosage generally go like 2 vaccines at interval 6 months for children between 9-15 yrs and 3 vaccines for people between 15-27 years of age #spreadawareness #getvaccinated #stayhealthy

💉 HPV vaccines are highly effective in preventing cancers caused by certain high-risk HPV types, but they don’t cover all strains of the virus. This means regular cervical screening is still essential to detect and prevent cancers caused by types not covered by the vaccine. 🌍 Additionally, HPV vaccine accessibility varies worldwide. In many regions, economic and resource constraints make widespread vaccination unattainable, making cervical screening even more critical. ✅ The best approach to preventing cervical cancer combines HPV vaccination and routine screening. Whether vaccinated or not, regular screening is vital for protecting women’s health. #HPVVaccine #CervicalCancerPrevention #WomensHealth #HPVTesting
