On International Women’s Day, we come together to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of the remarkable and inspiring women within our networks and around the world. This year’s campaign theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, which emphasises the importance of diversity and empowerment, in all aspects of society, not just for today, but for every day that follows. “It calls for action to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create environments where all women are valued and respected. Inspire Inclusion encourages everyone to recognize the unique perspectives and contributions of women from all walks of life, including those from marginalized communities.” Two ways in which we can do this are through: 🔷 Diversity in leadership and decision-making positions “Women, especially those belonging to underrepresented groups, continue to face barriers when seeking leadership roles. By championing inclusion, organizations and communities can harness the full potential of diverse perspectives, leading to better decision-making and innovation.” We are seeing some progress in the Legal Industry, with several women being elevated in the last few years to top positions at leading law firms, but there is still some way to go. 🔷 Education and awareness Both “play vital roles in fostering inclusion and empowering women. Through initiatives such as mentorship programs, educational workshops, and advocacy campaigns, individuals and organizations can create opportunities for women to thrive. By providing support and resources, women can be empowered to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.” https://lnkd.in/eHfiAf-B #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion

Happy International Women’s Day, y’all. It’s great to see orgs celebrating women, but I’m wondering if it'd be more celebratory for orgs to post about these kinda of things on IWD: 👉 The steps they’ve taken to ensure women are paid the same as men 👉 Evidence of how they include women in decisions that affect women 👉 Steps they’ve taken to ensure women’s careers don’t suffer because they chose the radical act of starting a family 👉 How they’ve adopted a zero-tolerance policy to misogyny 👉 Their policy to safeguard women in the workplace 👉 A recognition that diversity doesn’t end at white women Amongst a whole wealth of other issues, no doubt.

Honoring Women Every Day! On International Women's Day, let's take a moment to recognize the extraordinary contributions that women make to our lives every single day. From the groundbreaking discoveries of scientists to the tireless advocacy of lawyers, from the compassionate care provided by doctors to the strategic brilliance of business leaders, women shape our world in profound ways. But let's not confine our appreciation to just one day a year. Every day should be an opportunity to honor and celebrate the achievements of women, acknowledging their intelligence, dedication, and resilience. We must recognize that the fight for equality isn't limited to a single day of recognition—it's an ongoing effort that requires our commitment each and every day. As someone who has witnessed firsthand the incredible work ethic and capability of women, I'm acutely aware of the challenges they face in being taken seriously and attaining the recognition they deserve. It's disheartening to see women, often more competent and hardworking than their male counterparts, still fighting for equal treatment and opportunities. That's why, at Peña Search, we are proud to actively promote gender diversity in leadership positions through our work. From the outset, we've made a concerted effort to place more women in executive roles, and our record speaks volumes—we're thrilled to say that 62% of all our placements are women. It's not just about recognizing the talent and potential of women; it's about actively working to create opportunities for them to excel and lead. So, on this International Women's Day, let's not only celebrate the achievements of women but also recommit ourselves to the ongoing work of creating a world where women are truly treated as equals in every aspect of life. Let's challenge stereotypes, dismantle barriers, and champion the rights of women everywhere. Together, let's build a future where every woman can thrive, not just today, but every day. -Carlos Pena, President #InternationalWomensDay #EqualityForAll #EmpowerWomen https://ow.ly/wPwX50QLgL2

I encourage agency leaders to take concrete actions instead of just making statements on International Women's Day. One way to do this would be to commit to three initiatives that can have a significant positive impact on supporting and promoting female colleagues. Then as agency leaders, be accountable for implementing the initiatives, monitoring progress, and celebrating success.

So what is International Women’s Day? IWD is a day of global activism and celebration for all women who are committed to forging women’s equality. The first IWD was held in 1911 so we have over 100 years of raising our profile, seeking equality and celebrating our achievements. Each year has a theme and this year, it is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. IWD say “when we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let’s forge a more inclusive world for women.” One of our objectives, is Accelerating Impact which is to engage and partner with women and support them to accelerate the impact of their work. For us, this is about being inclusive and Inspiring Inclusion. We can achieve this by: 🐝 promoting women’s rights and equality in the organisations we are part of 🐝 encouraging women into leadership, business and STEM 🐝 encouraging women to take on roles in industries which have been predominantly occupied by men such as agriculture and journalism 🐝 championing women and girl’s participation in sport and celebrate their achievements 🐝 promoting women and girls interest and inclusion in the arts or creative industry such as music, performance and dance These are just a few examples of things we can do every day to ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and to achieve our vision of a world where all women have a voice and the power to lead.
