Check out the latest app I built! I was inspired by my friend Ashley Whiteside, who spent hours building a Christmas scavenger hunt, thinking of clues for different hiding spots. So, I built this to create clues based on the hiding spot you enter. You can also choose the difficulty level to make it as simple or perplexing as you would like for your game night! Eight of us were chasing each other around the house, trying to be the first to find the next clue for hours, and we had a blast. https://seekify.app brings the creation time from hours down to minutes! Oh wow, big change! Meetup is definitely in extraction phase now, we knew it was just a matter of time. https://lnkd.in/gXyCit6c We used to pay $20/month and now it’s closer to $50/month. Meetup has been sending us less people lately, too - less useful and more expensive. That money is better spent doing our own ads elsewhere. For a few of my groups we’re considering dropping Meetup and just using http://Lu.ma (and still cross posting to Eventbrite for free, that’s no change)

#Know25BehindTheScenes Entry 1: 71 Days To Go For #Know25, I wanted to try something new here on LinkedIn and attempt micro-blogging some behind the scenes updates so y’all can see how the sausage is made! 🌭 This year, I have the honor of helming 2 big projects: the CreatorCon Keynote and the Builder Track Lab Series. Discussions about both technically already began late last year, but today was the official kick off for the latter! The Builder Track is a series of labs that happen every year at the Knowledge CreatorCon. They have varied in number from year to year, but are designed to attract people with little to no building experience on ServiceNow. To further their utilization in other events throughout the year (e.g. World Forums, local CreatorCons), these labs are designed to be easily taken in sequence and utilize the same use case, allowing the audience to not only learn the best practices for building an application, but a realistic order of how one mature’s an application’s capabilities. This year, Jason McKee helped rangle together and amazing team to help build them out, which is who I met with today to lay out the scope of the project (I’ve got something fun planned for their big reveal later 😉). We also delved into this year’s use case, which I think y’all will really like 😌 I’ll give you a hint - it has something to do with the release name… 🏯

Hi all, From all of us at Atlas Advantage we want to wish you a wonderful festive season, however you may celebrate. These dark days (for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere) are a time for people to come together and celebrate. It’s also a time of introspection and reflection. Having launched Atlas Advantage less than a month ago hasn’t given us much time yet to do introspection and reflection. During this intense period we have already learned a ton and want to share some of our findings with all of you in the spirit of giving: 1. Change is coming for the Atlassian ecosystem, this can be scary, but also brings a wealth of opportunity for all. 2. The Atlassian Partner community has struggled, but the core is strong. There is a lot of respect and willingness to find ways to work and build together. 3. Services like the ones Atlas Advantage offers are very much needed, especially our 1 hour per week of coaching is already helping individuals and companies around the world. Jumped in a time machine on the way to the office this morning listening to a conversation referencing 2016 when PLG way just getting started. Kyle Poyar explained to Scott Barker on The GTM Podcast that back in 2016 when PLG was getting going, no one even called it PLG. Companies were throwing around terms like "bottom-up", "B2C2B", and "viral products." Everyone trying to describe the same thing in different ways. The first PLG summit Kyle put together? Just 100 people in a room, but what a room. Kyle and his team were watching companies like Datadog and Atlassian pioneer something completely different: -- No traditional sales motion -- Users finding value before talking to anyone -- Product doing the heavy lifting in acquisition -- Growth through actual usage, not just sales Fast forward to 2019: 600+ people at their summit, Figma's CCO keynoting. Then the pandemic hit and everything exploded. Suddenly everyone was at home, discovering and buying software on their own. PLG companies took off. Now, there are playbooks and there are similar companies to take inspiration from. But the initial PLG companies weren't following playbooks or frameworks. They were writing it from scratch, often pulling ideas from B2C and just seeing what worked. What started as a few companies experimenting has grown into an entire motion redefining how software is built, sold, and adopted. Thanks Kyle and Scott for the time machine, and the reminder that the best ideas often begin without a playbook.
