On July 26, we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in all areas of life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. We honor and celebrate the diversity of people with disabilities – those with physical, intellectual/developmental disabilities, people with mental illness, and those with undiagnosed disabilities. We are dedicated to helping people lead their best lives by creating opportunities for meaningful relationships, full integration into the community, and personal growth. Let's commemorate the ADA by continuing to advocate for a world where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive and participate fully in society. Several affordable housing landlords are fighting back against skyrocketing insurance rates with a new strategy that they say will get costs under control and improve conditions for tenants: insuring themselves.
S:US is proud to share that we have successfully closed on the acquisition of four pre-war tenements in Hell’s Kitchen. With our partners, SMJ Development and High Point Property Group, we plan to fully update and renovate the building, preserving homes for the 11 existing rent-stabilized tenants while converting the remaining 69 units into affordable housing for homeless families under a CityFHEPS rental assistance contract.
