Analysis of the reasons for excessive voltage drop in cranes The reasons for excessive voltage drop in cranes may include: (1) The wire material is not suitable and the conductivity is too low; (2) The wire cross-section is too small; (3) When the wire cross-section is determined, the wire length is too long; (4) No measures are taken to limit the starting current when the crane motor is started, such as full-voltage starting of a large-capacity motor. Or the motor capacity is too large; (5) The connection resistance of the wire connection point in the crane main circuit is too large; (6) There is serious poor contact between the crane conductor and the busbar.

Maintaining a safe distance It’s crucial to maintain a safe distance from the crane hoist lines and boom when you’re operating a mobile crane near power lines. OSHA recommends maintaining a minimum distance of 10 feet for lines rated 50 kilovolts (kV) or below. If the lines carry a higher voltage, the distance needs to be even greater; 4 inches for every 10kV over 50 kV to be precise.

Cable installation by Jetting offers several advantages: 1. Reduced Friction: Jetting uses a stream of air or water to reduce friction between the cable and the conduit, allowing for smoother passage, especially in long or complex runs. 2. Efficient for Long Distances: It is particularly effective for installing cables over long distances where traditional pulling might be difficult due to resistance and friction. 3. Minimized Cable Damage: By reducing the physical stress and friction on the cable, jetting can help prevent damage during installation. 4. Ability to Navigate Bends: Jetting can facilitate the installation of cables through tight bends and turns in the conduit that might be challenging with other methods. 5. Reduced Installation Time: The technique can be faster than manual pulling, leading to quicker installations and potentially lower labor costs. #plumettaz #plumett #cableinstallation #cable #underground

Have you ever experienced this: the cable to be terminated has a thick jacket, beyond what you would normally expect to see. Now you need to figure out how to get the jacket off without damaging the conductors/pairs inside. If you had made the small investment of this tool, you’d already be on to the next step. Go ahead and get one. After all, what is your time worth? Cable and Connections - Keeping You Connected
The Jonard Tools #CableSaber™ is the ultimate solution for accessing the middle section of #ArmoredCable or thick jacketed cables, ranging from 4 mm to 28.6 mm (0.157” to 1.125”) in diameter. #ToolsOfTheTrade #CableAndConnections Check it out >>>>> https://lnkd.in/epJfgUrE

Inadequate operation after installation Reason: It may be due to poor fit between the installation surface of the host and the installation surface of the slewing bearing, resulting in the axial clearance of the slewing bearing being unable to compensate for the deformation of the slewing bearing after installation. The slewing bearing is in a negative clearance state, making it difficult for the rolling element to operate in the raceway (sometimes accompanied by abnormal noise), poor meshing of the large and small gears, or foreign objects stuck in the large and small gears. Solution: Reprocess the installation plane of the host machine to meet the requirements, adjust the meshing clearance of the large and small gears according to the requirements, especially pay attention to the position of large gear runout, check to ensure that there are no foreign objects in the meshing position of the large and small gears, and replace the rotary support bearing with a slightly larger clearance.

The Excel Bottom Transfer Loading Arm (BL-54) offers ease of use and efficiency. This loading arm rotates above and below the horizontal to reach the required connection points on the vehicle being used for transport. The BL-54 is designed for applications where extended reach is needed when vehicles cannot accurately be spotted for loading. The extended reach bottom loading arm stores in a horizontal position to either side of the riser pipe and is dependent on the piping layout and pre-existing obstructions.
