Level Switch vs Level Transmitter 1) Level Switch generates a simple ON/OFF signal based on the presence or absence of liquid at a specific point, Whereas Level Transmitter provides continuous and accurate level measurements with an output signal proportional to the level. 2) Level Switches are relatively simple in construction and operation. In contrast, Level Transmitters use more advanced sensing technologies. 3) Level Trasmitters are generally more expensive than Level Switches. 4) Level Transmitters are used in processes where continuous and accurate level monitoring, precise control are required. (Ex. Level is cotrolled by using LCV) Whereas Level switches are suitable where discrete level detection (ex. As the MFC is a well-known technology for gas diluters and calibrators, it is of interest to compare both methods. Each method has advantages and disadvantages. While Mass Flow Controllers are more flexible by allowing a mix of several gases at the same time, the sonic nozzle generates only binary mixtures but at a better accuracy and in the long term. 🔧 Miniseries, Chapter 2, Part 1: Industrial Applications 🔧   Industrial applications are predominantly stationary. Multiple applications are operated in parallel, sharing multiple resources such as cooling and power supply.   👉 Cooling: In industrial applications often, a central cooling is present which is used to cool the compressor system.   👉 Power Supply: In industrial applications, the compressor system is supplied by an industrial fixed-voltage AC/DC converter connected to the grid. In some cases, this converter supplies a high voltage bus shared by several applications.   👉 Control: A programmable logic controller (PLC) controls the compressor system together with the process cycle of the application. The compressor system can be connected to the PLC via a field bus or other signals such as a serial interface or digital/analog inputs and outputs.   👉 Safety: If desired, the interlock circuit of the compressor system can be integrated directly in the safety loop of the application.   📆 Next week, we'll dive into an industrial application in cryogenics, sharing an experience of a customer with these integration principles.
