Failure to comply can result in fines and legal action. This non-compliance may cause the local authority to refuse the amended compliance schedule, necessitating the application for a Certificate of Acceptance (CoA) to obtain an amended compliance schedule, which can affect the issuance of a Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF). Obtaining a Certificate of Acceptance (CoA) is both time-consuming and costly. If the CoA is denied, the local authority will issue a notice to fix (NTF), requiring the removal of the work.
