Promoting Dignity at Work 💫 There isn't a place that we can refer to as "The Perfect Work Environment," but perhaps we can live there eventually. Each worker has a right to labour with honour. Everyone benefits when justice and respect are the cornerstones of our workplace. On the other hand, a poisonous atmosphere stunts development, lowers spirits, and impedes advancement for both people and the company. 🔹 Why Dignity Is Important: - Encourages: Workers experience a sense of worth and motivation. - Promotes Innovation: Creativity is encouraged in a happy environment. - Lowers Hiring Cost: Contented Workers Remain on the Job Longer. 🔹 The Price of Toxicity: - Low Productivity: Disengagement and stress erode productivity. - High Cost of Recruitment: Skilled workers go, taking their abilities with them. - Stagnation: A bad atmosphere impedes advancement in general. Create and foster an environment of deference, assistance. Together, we can create a thriving workplace where everyone can reach their full potential. 👑

July 1st was the deadline for workplaces in California to implement a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) as established in Senate Bill 533. Now what? Trainings, committees, policy and forms are all going to be part of a WVPP, but the most important thing is workplace culture. Does your workplace foster civility? Do employees feel like they can approach their supervisors when they feel unsafe? Employers can meet the legal requirements by creating a policy, but creating a civil work environment where employees feel like they can approach management will help create a workplace culture that reduces the risk. Check out the Society for Human Resources Management 2024 campaign for a civil workplace! https://lnkd.in/gSS5t4xz

The introduction of the positive duty under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) marks a significant change in the way businesses are required to think about, and manage, unlawful workplace conduct. Business owners, board members and senior organisational leaders must be across the changes. Six months into the new regime, it is a good opportunity to reflect on what you and your business are doing, and whether further action is needed. Register today to join my colleague Brigid Emmett for a comprehensive session aimed at upskilling you about the positive duty obligations and, most importantly, giving you practical information about how you and your business can comply.

1moThis kind of training is so needed in today’s polarized world and workplace. It looks like it goes beyond traditional compliance to foster strong culture and brand, aligning with CSR. I particularly like the inspiration to incorporate EEOC and DOJ consent decrees.
