PROJECT CLOSING Project closing is the final and last stage of a project life cycle. The first step in project closure is to ensure that all project goals are satisfied. It is important to check in with, and officially declare the end of a project to project sponsors, owners, customers, team members, committee members,as well as other concerned individuals. An email can be sent to signify this. All contracts should be closed. Have a project celebration with your team members. Why. It gives physiological closure to everyone involved. It would be weird to promptly disband without any form of thankful-appreciation. A post-project review should be conducted with team members. How was the whole project experience?. What went well?. What did not?. What was planned? What came to fruition?. Did we deliver as expected?. The purpose of a review is to document experiences, learn from mistakes made, avoid repetition in upcoming projects. Resources should be released. Observation will still go on post launch, making it crucial to have some team members to reach out to in case prompt changes are required. It is important to ensure that all persons involved are well-satisfied. You also have to be content with the work carried out.
